Hi there I was hoping some one may be able to shine some light on this for me, I have a bone stock 2016 XTX with just under 1100km on it. Just before 1000km had all the post break in maintenance done, also had the track tightened as it was a little sloppy.
Once I got out on the sled I noticed the clutch is engaging slightly higher than before close to 4000 rpm and engaging quite rough, it's no longer a smooth take off. The sled then jumps immediately once I get going, roughly 7200 rpm around 30 km/h then close to 10k around 50-60 km/h. When I get up to higher speeds 75+ the rpms seem to even out a little. Slowing down it also seems a bit jerky.
I am wondering if this is normal before 1000km I don't remember the sled driving like this, also I burned through a pile more gas as it seemed the engine was working much harder than it had to.
Any insight would be great, thank you I'm advance.

Hey blazin
Fellow XTX owner here.
Sounds like some drag somewhere. Same issue here when my stock secondary went out. All I did was clean it and problems started.
Anyway, good way to check is ride it for abit. Pull side cover off and feel clutches. Should be able to put your hand on them and hold it. Warm to touch. If really hot something amiss.
Having said that the first issue I noticed with XTX during break in was the stock sliders. I burnt through them in 800 kms. When I came to stop they would stick to track clips. Burnt hole in them and didn’t even know it. If I was cruising along I’d drag my foot (sending snow in track) and feel the sled pick up speed. Ease up if that makes sense.
Check wheels too. I’ve had the inside ones at top (front) of track stick a few times.
My stock XTX speedo was bang on with gps.
I’m out 5 now with gear change. (5 faster than what I see on Dream meter)
Cruising 90km/h @9500
100@ 10,300
110@10,800
120@12300 (after final dial in of my new secondary wrap my rpms drop abit and climb back up going flat out for a distance). Max speed gps 130 is all I can get.
Above is what I see on dial I use the gps only to get my actual max speed.
Does yours hit rev limiter right out of the box all the time? 12,800rpm (ish)??

Just took it out for a little ride clutch was fine to touch, but I didn't go overly far so I don't know if that is fair to say. Sliders are toast, I'll check the wheels to see how they're holding up. Never hit the rev limiter low end all the way through top, never see 12k either normally max around 11800 or so. I double checked the belt for wear, still looks brand new and in spec, no wear dust in clutch either I still blew them out though.
I just tried to keep an eye on rpms vs speed:
Idle -1850
Engagement - approx 4000
Actually moving - 5500
30km/h to 40km/h - 7200-8500
40km/h to 50km/h - 8900-9900
60km/h to 80km/h - 10500
90+ km/h- 10500-11800
It seems like once I get the sled moving and up around 80km/h+ the rpms seem to be where they should

All looks good to me.
Duponts I highly recommend.
Could use 2 grams in your primary. Get rid of that 11,800.
11,100-11,300 the sweet spot for that Phazers.

I see 8800-9000 @ 50mph/80kph on the trail. My weights are loaded up to only turn 11,300 WOT. I’m also geared low with a 18t upper gear.
