Anybody have a 17 or 18’ viper?
How is the starting on the newer sleds? Any other issues to be aware of? Thanks guys

I got a 16 ,sat outside for a few days at -29f and wouldn't start, parked in my shed after and starts no problem,

I have a 17 Viper, sat outside overnight at -20 for a couple days and fired right up. I’m a little crazy though, battery tender junior on sled every minute I’m not on a trip or riding

I had a 16, just wondering about the 17s and 18s

Any other problems with the sled? How many kms on yours?

I have a 18 and fires up Everytime and have 350 miles on it. No problems so far

my son has a 17 and he has to try 3-4 times to start it when cold. when warm it seems to be 1-2 times. so i think for some it's good and others are still having problems

That sucks, you think by year 3 they would have this figured out...

It's my thoughts that it is intentional that they don't start right up on the first cranking in order to get some oil moving around. Just my thought, I do this in the race car all the time in order to get oil pressure up some before actually letting engine fire. I don't know just throwing it out there.

That was after the reflash on some model years...it is a big engine and hard to turn over in the cold. Some guys cycle the key twice and then it fires right up. But it would be nice on the first try.

If that was the case all cars would not start if they had to be primed. My Apex starts first try and it's a bigger motor with the same type of oiling system. Im sure it's the AC ECU because I haven't heard of any sidewinders with this issue but I might be wrong

Normally on the vipers you have to turn the key on and let the fuel pump cycle, once it’s done then you can start the sled. But some guys will do this twice...

CooperT. he's tried everything and its still the same. My buddy has the exact same sled and his doesn't seem to have this issue.
