Hi guys. I have an 06 apex gt that I put the 23 tooth top gear on and love it. I have a 2011 se now as well. Does it need the 23. Tooth gear as well. Not sure what comes in it. I'll do it if it will make it more punchy!!!

The 128's have a 24, the xtx has a 23.

23 is a common gear swap since you don't need to buy a new chain. There was an Apex gearing thread last year that was helpful to me as it had comments on several different set ups. (However, I cannot locate it at the moment). I ultimately went with a 24/39 gear. It helped my midrange, however I'm now spinning 11k RPM's WOT, so I need a little clutch weight to bring it down to 10,800.

What will happen if I go to a 24 37 stock gears on my 128 vs going to a 23 37? I am also going to stretch it to a 136 for next year so I know that will change things. I did not get to much from that thread because everyone was all over the place and did not specify what kind of riding they did, trail riding whith the need for some top end or just plain lake running where you need all the top end you can get. I also trail ride and there is not alot of places that I can top end my apex. So what would be the best setup for this situation?

Your 2011 apex should have 24/37 as stock configuration. Unfortunately I do not have any experience with a 136 set up, so I don't want to comment on that and potentially provide bad information.

X 2. 24/37 is stock.
With a 136 I'd go to a 24/38 or a 23/37.

I did the 23 tooth on my 06 and was super happy. Mid range is much better and I actually picked up top end cause its much easier for the engine to pull. So I think I wil go ahead with the swap on the se and see how it goes
