2up seat options

Yes the mounting brackets are different but the Kimpex Seat Jack that Mr. Sled posted is universal to all sled brands and models. Just have to buy the appropriate mounting kit for the sled. Most mounting kits are about $90. I bought that very setup this year for my apex. It is an investment for sure, but with it being universal I think it would be pretty easy to resell. Touch base with Travis at BOP. He can set you up with the mounting kit.
Did the seat work well? At this point I’m torn between getting a fan cooled 2-up sled (there’s a nice 94 Venture near me for $700) or spending close to $500 on a seat jack. It might be nice to have a fan job for a few years. The. I could give the kids rides in the field, even when there’s only 2” of snow.

The seat is very nice. I actually had a 1997 Venture 2 up that I was going to keep and do the same thing you are thinking about, but decided to go with the seat instead. I sold the Venture with it needing some work for what I spent on the seat. A bit different as it was liquid compared to a fan, so that is a decent thought on your end. What made my decisions were these things:
- I would have had about $300 into the sled to get it trail worthy
- I didn't want another sled hanging around to store and take care of
- Sled was a 2 stroke, which I'm not a huge fan of anymore
- I'd much rather ride my Apex for my comfort than an older sled
- My dad takes my kids for rides too and I can put the seat on his Apex as well (bought another mounting kit). He can ride his own sled then too.
- If I buy a different sled, this can stay with me and work on new sled
- This will still have a good resale value seeing as it is universal when my kids get bigger.

Hope that helps.

Thats exactly my thoughts. I can pick up an old phazer fan-job for around the same price as one of those seats. My son that would sit in that seat jack will need his own ride eventually anyway.

I never really liked the jack seat to much on a sled designed for one passenger you are putting weight way back even with over sized springs the sled carried the weight just fine but was a wheelie monster and mad it hard to ride had to go quite slow through the corners and such because every time I would hit the gas the front would come up. maybe others have had better luck but on my XTX apex it works well but removes allot of the fun factor of riding. I would do the two up.

A 2020 two up side winder would give him the thrill of a lifetime!
