Test ride, Almost wiped out in the first 5 miles. The sled really high sided the skis out of the box. I, pulled the limiter strap down to the third hole and wound the front spring almost all the way down. Now it handles almost perfect. The stock carbides are only three inches and the track tends to push the sled even after these adjustment. I'm putting on dual 8" carbides so i can loosen up the front shocks a bit. This sled really does corner well at high speeds though. It only has a little push at 80-90 mph. Not bad for three inch carbides.

FYI, I scaled the sled with electronic racing scales. Believe it or not but the front end of this sled is on the money (same ski pressure on both sides). My partner has the fusion 900 and he is 40 lbs heavier on one side even without electric start, battery and reverse.

My wet weight with 5/8 of a tank of gas is 639 lbs
Fusion=593 wet

Glad you like your sled, here is my first 300 impressions from this weekend. Sorry for the novel but I'm impressed.:yam:

I got 300+ on my RS this weekend as well :D . I am running Ohlins all around with new USI Project VX skis with 6" Shaper Carbides. I had also pulled up limiter straps to 3rd hole. Never experienced any ski lift, rails the turns. I might try a little less strap, to see how it handles, stearring can get heavy with the added weight. Have the transfer rods setup for better corner to corner control instead of max transfer. Running 96 1.325" studs down the center. I was really impressed with the Rip Saw hook up. I had no problem running with my friends XC700 (ripsaw + 120 studs) and actually pulled MXZ800 for the first 500 feet. His MXZ didn't have the hookup but would catch and pass after that, but I'm not a lake racer, that's for my SRX700. They will out run me but had no problem with the twisties and staying with them. This engine Electric Motor Smooth, doesn't have the snap of my SRX but it is sneaky fast. Didn't get much WOT because of the break in period but got it up to 95 on the meter without much of a problem.

Need to play more with the suspension to fine tune it. Set to M (medium) on torsion spring and H (hard) on bottoming stopper. Still experienced some bottoming. Seems like I'm between settings, as the H setting on the torsion spring was to stiff for the small stuff. I'm 200lbs, might be nice to have some different spring options. Need to play with the Ohlins damping adjustment on rear shock and center spring setting some more.

This sled is not a mogul masher as you will feel the weight but it is alot better than my SRX was. ;)! The front Ohlins I have on are awesome, I can't compare them to the stock shocks as I never rode sled with stock setup, went straight to Ohlins. Seemed perfect right out of the box.

I averaged about 14-15 mpg on the first 300, expecting it will get better with more miles. Only problem I had was with the TORS, had several false Throttle Over Ride triggers, even after adjusting the cable. Will have to work on that, made adjustment on trail so may not be to spec yet. Seems like a common problem. Will talk to my dealer.

No problems starting the sled, even in cold over night temps well below zero. All in all, I'm a happy rider. Not dissapointed in going smokeless. :4STroke:

Thanks for the update.. I am very happy with my vector so far. We are planning a trip north the day after X-mas. I have 50 miles now and really would like to be near the 300 mark before our new-years weekend, This sled tracks so straigh. So quiet, clean smelling to. ;)! MM.

MM.......you're running dooly's, right ???? Did you run the 3" stockers ??? I've got a set of dooly's waiting to go on after the 3's burn up.
Or maybe sooner...........96 pics and 3" carvers don't seem like a good match. My first ride will be the 26th thru the 1st, on Tug Hill.

Yes I have the dooly's... Love them so far.. The first night out my wife was with me on her V-max 700. We switched and I really noticed the difference with the tracking.. She has the shaper bars, very good for turning but can't match the dooly's for straight line runnig.. That's very high on my pet peeve list.. ;)! MM.

My last new sled was a '98 700 xtc............it was all over the place on ice, and hardpack in the turns.....had to do a bit to get that puppy to turn reliably........I'm guessing the Rage is gonna need a bit of dialing in, too.
I almost wanna put the dooly's on right now, and save myself some grief.
I set the preload for " Lightweight " when I studded it....( 145# of old fart )
I figure I'll let it break in before I start messing with it. So far the weather on Tug Hill is gonna mean a lot of hardpack and ice.........Hmmmmm
maybe I won't wait for it to break in.

"PUT" them on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really.. It only take a few minutes.. I didn't even bother with the stock units. MM ;)!
