I had my skid out recently when I was working on my custom mount brackets. Figured I'd go through it and give an update.
First off, I only have a hair over 3000 miles on the suspension. As a rider I go all of 290 dressed, and I do occasionally ride aggressive. The one thing I don't do on a regular basis is jump the sled. My sled is a 2007 Apex RTX and I went with a 144" ZX-2. I run a 1.25" ripsaw and 9 tooth extrovert drivers. No studs.
I was going to take pictures of the teardown, but there really is nothing to report.
From a previous post, I noticed the two aluminum rail plates (the pieces you adjust your shock through with the special tool) were cracked. When I got a hold of Dennis at A&D Bovin, he sent me free replacements with rivets and decals. I also ordered a set of the non plastic bushings as I have read a number of members that have had issues with them.
When I removed my skid and started to disassemble it, I found that all my bushings are fine. I have a set of bronze ones as a back up, but the originals should last for a while yet it would appear.
I realized that I would have to completely separate the two plastic rails in order to drill out the rivets for the aluminum rail plates. Since I don't have a right angle drill, I opted to leave this till the end of the season.
3 of the 4 rubber stoppers for the revolver system were either missing or destroyed (Which A&D replaced free of charge.) Other than that the only other thing I wasn't happy with is one of the 120mm wheels was warped and had a very noticeable wobble when it spun. None of the wheels were delaminated at all and they all spun fairly free. At the end of the season, I plan on taking each bearing out and re-greasing.
For those of you on the fence about a new suspension, I hope some of the above information helps. If I get the chance to take pictures, I'll add them. I was just asked this past weekend if I would ever go with the ZX-2 again. I definitely would! The big bump ability of this skid is awesome. I would like to see a little improvement in the stutters, but I have never messed with re-valving yet. I absolutely love the fact that I am not jarring my spine with this sled on the G-outs. It is one of the best anti-bottoming skids I have ridden. Hopefully I will continue to have excellent reliability out of the skid.

X3 the ZX2 just flat out rocks for almost any type of riding. Mine is going in tomm! I really wanted to make the mono EC work but its not even in the same league as the Zx2
