I'm assuming that based on the tab size, the sensor on the left matches the 3 bar in my hand and that would be the one I replace?
That particular sensor does not have a hose to it, and the one on the right does have a hose to it. Just checking....

Right on. I got confused from the small tab of the ambient sensor and the big tab on the boost pressure sensor.
Common Sense took over... lol

Another quick check to do while you're in there - the waste gate solenoid should not have a hose running to air box. Nipple that faces down should be left open or maybe just have a short piece of hose on it hanging straight down. In the early years of production it became evident that sometimes moisture would collect in that hose and then freeze (block off the hose) causing erratic or non-functional waste gate actuation.

Yes, I remember reading something about that. Could you explain that again, not quite sure I understand what needs to be done exactly.

Pretty sure there's posts with pics here on TY for this.Yes, I remember reading something about that. Could you explain that again, not quite sure I understand what needs to be done exactly.
Early production 998s (both Cat and SW) vented that WGS to air box nipple with a 1/4' hose. Sometimes condensation would collect in that hose and freeze up causing WG to not work or work erratically - like it seemed to work once sled was ridden for a while (hot engine) but sometimes not working when sled was cold. Cause was ice in that hose. Later production was changed to not have that hose to airbox. I'm not sure but I think they just left the WG solenoid nipple open (no hose at all). If your CAI has a nipple for that hose, just plug it with a cap.

Perfect, Bob. I'll pull the line, plug the air box, then follow the line back and just pull it off the sensor. Or maybe leave a couple inches hang down.
Real nice.... Joe
