I ran out of gas on Sunday with 127 miles. I was going up a hill and the pick up must be towards the front I still had appx 1 gallon left. I've been averaging about 13 to 16 MPG. Lets remeber Yamaha was boasting about increased fuel economy, more than the RX. O ya a Mach Z (stock) 170 HP will match a RX-1 mileage. (if they dont foul out or blow up LOL) The RX-1 averaged a minimum 16-18mpg and I never ran out with the RX-1. I really think it could be remapped.

Well i must just run to darn hard,my buddy and i both have the er and gt and my boys rtx we all get around 11-14 generally closer to 12 and this is on the pin 98% of the time,up in northern maine where his camp is (madawaska) we can run rr beds for 5 mile stretchs to a time wfo,and that is just how we run,110 gps on rr beds and still get 11 mpg and that is not on real hard snow.. I cant remember the last time i rode at 50 mph,it was not this year because my wife never even rode one mile on her sled, bad year here in maine, but i can tell you what kind of milage i have been getting on these ripsaw tracks lol less than my gas milage...

I was running fairly hard that day in the Keweenaw 80-90. I dont think I ever got 11 or 12 unless I was going really slow thru the rollers. The mileage is best at a constant speed aroung 60ish on the dream meter.

try to push a 06 machz at 80 or 90 they suck the gas back so im not going to complain about gas mileage

Yes, several times I have made it to the 150 mile mark on my Attak. Not sure why, but at fuel stops the Apex's normally took 1-3 liters more fuel than I did and I was running at the same speeds. Also about the same compared to the RX models in the group.

I find if you are going slow the gas mileage is awesome, like under 50mph and easy @quarter throddle. Drive it like it should be and it does suck the fuel. It is better than any other 2 stroke besides the SDI. The RX-1 had 10-12 less HP, what do you people want. You can't have great gas mileage for more HP. Something has to give. If you have to conserve fuel, it can be done on the Apex. So if guys are running out @90 or earlier, then you are either driving in powder snow or you have other issues. For the ones that are making it to 120miles and still running out, then you need to learn how to back off the throttle and conserve a few miles until you get to the next gas station.

SledFreak, I dont agree some has to give. A stock Mach Z with 25 more ponies will get similar to better gas mileage. I'll still stick with my hammer though
Who the heck puts the labels under the authors names? I know Apex 21 and believe me he is a rookie if anyone is!

I believe the labels are based on the number of posts.
Well that would make sense cause Apex 21 likes to talk and talk and talk and talk and ..... You get the picture.

I JUST GOT BACK FROM A 1200 MILE TRIP UP IN CHIBOUGAMOU AND LAC ST. JEAN AND THE APEX GT I WAS RIDING GOT AT LEAST 150 MILES PER TANK IN THE MORNING WHEN THE CONDITIONS WERE HARD PACKED. THIS DROPPED TO ABOUT 130 MILES PER TANK WHEN THE CONDITIONS SOFTENED UP TO 10 DEGREE CELCIUS IN THE AFTERNOON. WE WERE RUNNING PRETTY HARD AVERAGING BETWEEN 65 AND 75 MILES PER HOUR. I GOT THE SAME MILEAGE RUNNING THE RAIL LINE WHERE WE RAN 80-90 MILES PER HOUR FOR 85 MILES. AS FOR THE MACH Z I TRAVELLED WITH THE WHOLE TRIP HE GOT WITHIN A FEW CENTS OF ME AT EVERY FILL UP.

I hope yammie can improve on the MPG part. I'm pretty happy with the sled overall. I wont be switching for a while, unless they get a big increase in fuel economy. I sure wasnt expecting mach Z riders to be telling me GULP GULP said the Apex
