I have been ridin 2 strokes for a while , an now want to go to 4 stroke lookin at 04 RX 1 , but concerned of the weigh issue , coments or sugestions ???

Everyone is concerned about weight, including us Yamaha guys. The 4 strokes will never be as light as the 2's but, I know for myself that I'd never go back. Once you go 4 you'll know for sure! First scheduled spark plug change on my sled is 25,000 miles! Yep, that's thousand...

Buy one. If weight is an issue it can be dealt with. I have so far removed 34 kgs or close to 75 lb off the my '03 RX-1 turbo sled. A Wildchild rider forward steering relocation kit would be a great update along with an Apex seat or an aftermarket seat for greatly improved rider ergos.

I'm on my 3rd 4stroke RX-1 and Apex RTX and I have yet to foul a plug. I have changed the plugs every other year just for the piece of mind, plugs looked fine tho.
