42 Tooth Reverse Gear ?

I use one and if you havve reverse I wouldn't recommend it. It requires you do some machining on the reverse idler and gear itself for clearance. They touch and uder load come even closer.

You dont recommend because of th machining ? I have access to machining. Do you have pics or can you tell me how and where they need to be machined ?

All I remember was I ended up removing material from both gears. Cant remember how much from each. I was told on here somewhere how much to remove and when I first rode it, it made high pitched wines from the case under acceleration. I then went back and remove a little more from each untill the noise went away, then took a bit more off. I have had it appart a couple times since to check and everything is still good. I have beat the bag off of it since, 1000 plus miles with no issues. Sorry I don't have measurements for you. At this point I dont even remember what I did for gears. I ran a 42 with the largest gear I could on top with a 70 link. I could run this without the adjuster it is so straight. The 42 made up for the 10 tooth drivers.

its the small reverse gear that must have the tips taken off. put it together and you will see that they lock and wont turn, adjust clearance as needed.
