i want know if someone try to put a 42 tooth bottom gear in stock apex chaincase.it is there enough place?

If it has reverse, you will need to do some machining on the gear and the reverse idler(small gear) for clearance. I have one in mine to make up for 10 tooth drivers, it took alot to get it to fit. It was a worry for a while but I now have a little over 1500mls on it that way and there is no filing in the oil.

i have now a another question.if i can put a 43 th in bottom,can i put a 23th gear with for total 23/43

not sure, I know I used 22/42 with a 70 link and there was little room. I also have reverse which bends the chain a bit, though less with a large lower gear. I think your going to be too tight with a 70l

I was thinking of going with a 40 bottom gear.. what has to be machined? there's no gear you can buy that is made for a yamaha with reverse?

there is a 42 reverse gear made that i ran for a few years made by micro-belmont. the tips of the reverse gear need trimming for clearance as stated. a 43 reverse, if you could find one, would not work. gears are made for non-reverse sleds up to 26 top and 43 bottom. i run a 22-42 set with a 70 link chain, and going up 1 more tooth on either gear will require a 72 link. its so close to a perfect fit but wont go together. i still have the 42 reverse on the shelf but it is worn.

I run a 40 tooth ordered thru port yama for reverse --$150
no machining required . (ulmer also sells gears)
