Getting back into sleds. I pickup a 2015 Venture Gt . I had owned an 09 Gt years back. I would like to put a 4th wheel in. Is there a kit or info on doing it? Is the hyfax wear still an issue with Yamaha or did they get their heads out of their asses and fix the problem.
Whats this new at least to me Dupont hyfax. Is it good stuff or more bullshit the mfg promise? I'm back please chime in need info. Thanks Clay

the duponts are yamaha's answer to silde wear. as to the 4th wheel kit, i just buy a wheel and make my own as it seems to be discontinued now.

Would you know how much to take out of the center bushing???

Just measure the width of the bearing of the idler wheel you'll be adding and then remove that much from the longer axle shaft. Another option would be to contact Travis of Barn of Parts (@hibshman25) as he has a kit available that will include the idler wheel and axle shaft.

Ok np ill order the parts . Sounds easy enough. Thx

I ordered a kit from Travis at BOP

I put the 4th wheel kit from Barn of Parts on my 2011 XTX today. The new wheel seems slightly larger so when I set track tension I had to back out the right side 2 extra turns to get the track tension correct. The new wheel is about 1/8 bigger than the other 3 original wheel. My sled has 4000 miles and I don’t see wear on the original 3 wheels. Will this be OK? I feel like this will make the track run offset? Anybody else notice this when putting on 4th wheel kit?

I would not ride it that way, send the kit back and get a wheel from Yamaha and cut your bushing.

when i put the 4th wheel into the 16 apex xtx, the new wheel (from yamaha) was slightly larger than the ones on the sled. i installed it anyways and now it is the same as the ones that came on the sled. i think the rubber just needed some wear from the track to become the same size as the ones on the sled.

oh and btw i put it on at less than 100 km on the sled.
