6206 Bearing?????????

The jack shaft bearing does it have a tapper on the I.D.? I dont think it does, it can go in the Rx1 frame any way right. The one right behind the secoundary.

there is a taper in the inside of the bearing i beleve that the correct # is 6606K

I have a friend with a 6206 bearing is this the right one the update coller will not slide in.(enuff) He just has to flip the bearing right?

A buddy of mine who works for NSK (the bearing supplier) got me a bunch of 6206 bearings and they won't work because they do not have the taper. Told him, he went back to work and checked and said he couldn't get them with the taper and that it must be a Yamaha only thing that they subfarm out.

So if the bearing didn't come from Yamaha, it won't work.

Hey Sky, I made the same mistake when I went to replace my jack shaft bearing...assuming it was a regular bearing...but its not, its tapered! Well I was desperate so i began to grind/sand down the IR until it was tapered to fit the collar. It took some patience but eventually it worked and had not problems with it!

If you get a bearing with some kind of a locking mechanism, then you can do away with the collar without ill effect.

Just slide the collar into it and it will show you which way the bearing goes.

The collar will only fit all the way in from one direction !!!
