Hey Guys, Anyone have any experience with a 7x23 foot Enclosed trailer? I am looking at a legend Aluminum and wondering if i could squeeze 3 sleds in if i had to. Also looking at a 27'. Thanks

I would think if you put them in Forward, Reverse and Forward you will have now issues.

nope i have 2 xtx's and then the third would likely be a shorty but i would like to be able to haul 3 144's if i had to. . Im torn between an 8.5' wide and a 7' wide. Does the 7' wide pull that much better?

Farmac,

I just bought a 23' trailer (7x18' plus a 5' V nose), it is scheduled to come in in two weeks. I bought it to fit two 144s with some other crap (maybe a clam, sleigh, etc) which it does quite comfortably. My father in law has the same trailer and has three 144s in it right now (including one of mine) for storage. It is very tight and the sleds all pretty much touch each other. I would not want to travel like this.

From research I did on here and a few other places before ordering my trailer (I was originally looking at a 7x14+5), a couple said it could be done (with 3 144s) and is easier to take a ski off at least one of the machines. From what I have seen, that is probably right.

I do not think you would have any prob with 2 144s and a shorty. If you are gonna have 3 often, go for the bigger rig.

Crazy

V-nose ?

Here's a 7x29 with 5 sleds from a manufacturer's webiste. Can't recall, but it could be Legend. The framing is 2' oc. Based on this pic, I'm hoping to be able to cram 4 sleds in a 7x23' v-nose on occasion by taking the skis off the back sled (imagine the last 6' of this trailer cutoff). You should be ok with 3.

I have a 7x23 Legend and get one 136 and two 121's in with ease, Just need to go in from front with all three. kviper

I thought I read in another post somewhere, someone had 4 sleds in a 23 footer (18' with 5' Vnose) Don't remember the lenths, but if he can get 4 in, I would think 3 three 144s would work.

We can get 4 sleds in a 7x20+5 Vee. Three 121's and a 153 by overlapping. Drive one in, back the next one in beside it, drive #3 in behind the first one, back #4 in beside #3. Otherwise we can get 2 121's and the 153 in all facing forward.

My brother has a 7x23 United trailer. We always haul my 136", his 144" and his son's 121" all the time. Easy fit. We have even on occasion hauled a fourth 136" sled in it to. That gets to be a tight fit. But instead of simply staggering the sleds, we have to put some in backwards. But they do all fit without removing skis.

personally i would go with the wider trailer if i were to get one. i like the idea of being able to pull sleds in side X side but thats just me. as far as towing, i can believe its that much differnce. you may notice some more drag behind you but its still a V nose trailer. what are you pulling it with?

I waffled terribly before I purchased my trailer and made several trips to Trailite Sales to look and talk, they were a huge help. I ended up with a 7x16 and normally haul three very easy. There are big differences between a trailer with wheels outside vs. under. Size of wheels, center of gravity, angle of ramps, ease of view behind while towing etc. A dealer should be able to help you.
