"Ya never knew Yamaha made a V-MAX 6... Well they didn't, but Reichard's did!

Here is some requested info from our 1996 catalog.

Want to be the undisputed king of the trail and the lake?

Reichard's has spent the entire summer in research and

development to bring you the V-Max 6 Cylinder. At 250 to

300 hp depending on the options, it's sure to beat anything

that dares to run against it. In standard form it is 1125 cc,

and with the "Big Bore" kit it is a huge 1260 cc with 275 hp.

Standard kit will include 750 engine cylinders, six 38mm

carbs, and three two-into-one pipes. The standard kit fits

completely under the hood and takes premium unleaded

gasoline. There will also be a six pipe and nitrous option to

push the power level to near 400 hp. Pricing will be on a

one-to-one basis, and quantities are limited. Call for more

information. Serious inquiries only.

Note! the above information is for historical interest's only.

This product is no longer available.
Reichards also made pipes. Here are some examples.

First example is of 4 individual pipes on a V-MAX 4. Second image is of a 2 into 1 twin pipe setup on a V-MAX 4."

I had two 1994 750s. Hands down the coolest sled(s) I've ever owned! The 750s really weren't that fast, but if you wanted to empty out a trail side bar, just pull up and rev the motor a couple of times.

You want to watch for the crank being out of phase. The 800s weren't as prone as the 750s but I've seen them all do it. The three ways to tell are to ride it and see if the foot holds vibrate, if it doesn't quite have the performance you think it should have, or if it starts kind of hard. Those things were really good starters, so if it starts hard it might be a crank timing problem. The '97s were the bomb: hydraulic break and ProAction skid, but good luck finding one. Yamaha only imported 300 in 1997 and a lot of them never hit the consumer market. I'd be surprised if 200 were actually sold. Jam an M-10 in one and you'll have a cool trail sled!

Yes , Thanks for posting I saw one of those beasts at their showroom in wisconson back in the mid to late 90"s. They did really well in drag racing in most classes back then. I had a set of pipes and clutch kit for my 95 Vmax 600 and it ran pretty fast. I never saw the 6 race but it sounded pretty mean!!!!! I still have a catalog from them in my box of sled mags. Blue

how do they get that to fit under the hood

There's enough room under that hood for a small block chevy and three of your kids! We've got a '95 holding down the floor in our shop. I love the sound but I HATE cleaning the carbs lol.

Vmax 6?? COOL!!! I did get a chance to ride a modded out 1993 750cc with motor work and pipes. It was pretty fast and fun as long as you were going straight. When it came time to grab ahold of the mechanical binder......YIKES!! You wondered if you were ever going to slow down.
