Someone thought it would be cool to throw it in reverse and stab the throttle I bet, instead of just easing into the throttle while in reverse.

I don't see that being an issue on sleds that are treated properly and not abused. We just saw a picture of a winder with a broken reverse idler as well. Same thing.

It's possible, Mike.
There's plenty of other issues being exposed. Kinda funny that the guys who dropped out of the 998t crowd are seeing problems with Ski-Doo's current "lord of the snow" lol.
More will be exposed, as soon as they start turning them up.
Point being....the grass isn't always greener.

Sleds not treated properly or abused....? No!

While we're on the topic of chaincase, I just replaced a top bearing on an 18 850 Doo. Ready to fail with CHINA stamped on it. A 6205 isn't exactly a big bearing for that job.
These sleds aren't the only ones with cheapy bearings.

Oh I hear you for sure. There is not a machine made right now that would interest me over what I have currently, other than a new PowerSteering Thundercat.

I'm kind of hoping for a new king of the trail Winder/Thundercat with a new Cat chassis and a turbo charged Apex power plant with Yamaha chain case & driveline... Maybe for 2024 when the COVID issues get resolved!

I don't think Doo will ever bring a proper HyperSled to market. They seem stuck on that 900 rental fleet engine and adding a "mini-turbo" to it and locking out the ECU on it.

Locking out ECU is changing … John Deere was doing it on there big Tractors to the farmers.. At the hearings the heads of some pretty companies amoung them Microsoft were there cause the change in law allows for access to the locked up technology.. This case is only the beginning…. People are tired of having their hands tied behind their backs ….

I got to tow a new 900r yesterday. The guy said it just shut off like he hit the kill switch. His dealer talked him through a couple things but nothing worked. I really wanted to take a pic for my ski doo buddy but the guy was older and very nice.

Pay all that money , short season anymore, and then you have that happen, its really a darn shame and really I would not wish that on anyone… so sad …

I've been saying this for a few years now, but the G4 and Axys would not be bullet proof if there were thousands of them on snow pushing 250hp to 300hp. Yamacats get a bad wrap but there are plenty out there that are pushed to the limits.
