Ive been reading alot of posts about your apex and 05 rx-1 lately.. and this is what you need to do..
Part out the 05.. its just not worth fixing... blown motor and just to costly to replace! You might recoup $2000 on the sled parted out!
Start buying NEW sleds every year and trading every year.. (dealers are very aware on how hard you are on these sleds and have black balled you!) when they call in you serial number for your sleds a BIG light pops on for them!
You ride too many miles a year to justify keeping a sled for more than one year and expecting the sled not to break down..
Just my opinion.. but an honest one..

To many miles on a Yamaha that the engine is supposed to be bullet proof. I dont buy that one.
