A riding buddy of mine stopped by today with his new toy. We live 400 miles from Bend Oregon but my buddy met the seller half way and picked up Aaron's old 03 blue RX-1 Mountain.
The last buyer rode the sled 3 times and was hit while standing and watching by a riding buddy early last season and didn't ride the sled again.
This sled has most of Kachess's mods including a 162" Maverick, battery relocation, Apex seat, rider forward mod, Apex mountain skis, tupperware airbox, M7 skid, under tunnel exhaust, Hartman tunnel extension, etc..........
The sled looks and sounds great! I'm very excited to have Aaron's old sled in my local riding group.
Rest assured it will be well cared for and we're already talking about adding a light weight front end and maybe a lightweight seat.
Thanks and Nice Job Aaron!

Let me see if I can get the new owner to fess up some pictures. He's also talking about moving the light from the hood to the handlebar mount and adding a second one.
I'll work on it...................

Lee, I hope he enjoys it! I kinda kick myself for selling it, but am certainly enjoying my new addition to the garage at the same time. Should of turboed it for a "fun" sled! That sled rocks in deep powder. I think he will be pleasantly surprised. Let me know if I can be of any help.

Thanks Aaron! Did I ask you how you had the sled clutched? I saw in a plastic bag he got with the sled that there was an O/S/O primary spring, a white secondary spring and what appeared to be the stock 16.5mm rollers.
So I'm guessing you have 14.5mm rollers and a silver secondary spring?
Do you remember what helix you had in the secondary? The stock one? And weren't you using 89L weights? What primary spring were you using?
There's your picture Maxdlx! :rules

Frosty, If your friend is looking I have a Boss seat for the RX-1
and also a custom made aluminum seat support and storage bag, for the under tunnel set-up.

Lee, to be honest with you, I can't remember! I know it has the 14.5mm rollers and a different secondary spring, but the primary, weights and helix I don't remember! Pretty sure it is the stock primary. Now that I think about it, it's a Hartman setup, so I know the helix and weights are different too, but I couldn't tell you what they are as far as degree and grams! Sorry.

I thought you where running the 54/42 hartman helix last time Aaron?
pretty sure since I was comparing setups with you and thats what I had.

54/42 sounds right. Man did Tom ever do good in developing the ultimate in helix angles for the RX-1M! :ORC
54/42 with a silver spring at 80 degrees on the secondary would be my setup.
The primary is another question. I haven't had a chance to peak in there just yet.

I looked at it again yesterday. Rob has cleaned it up, added some decals, mounted two cool looking lights on the sides of the handlebar riser and is redoing the cover under the rear of the seat.
It's really kind of cool. There was a double layer of metal under the rear of the seat above the single pipe. He peeled the upper one off and I told him to put a hinged door on the upper plate so he can use it as a glove/ food warmer. This could be a real cool mod. More to follow.
Now if it would only snow
