I picked myself up an '09 LTX, so 1st gen of the Monoshock skid. When I got it, it needed hyfax. They were badly worn right in the middle where there's no wheels.

Obviously this was improved on the Mono 2, as my '10 and '15 Vector LTXs have wheels in this spot.

I've put 200 miles on it in good snow so far, and zero wear in this area to the new hyfax. But, I know I won't always be in ideal conditions , so I'm curious if there's a way to add wheels in the middle near the rubber bump stops?

I figured on the little marginal wheels, but due to the rail reinforcements there also, they can't attach to the groove as they are designed to.

Have to be careful when ordering these kits. Twice my dealer tried to sell me the wrong kit as I wanted the kit that went up at the bend.
Marginal snow kit is different for the Ltx vs the 121 kit. The 121 kit is mounted up front in the bend and the mounting block is grooved for the rail. The Ltx kit comes with a new rail reinforcement piece to which the wheel mounts to.

I cured my problem with Hyfax wear by installing taller Shitdoo wheels . They fit right on the Yamaha mounts and they have replaceable bearings. Now the bad ... When you increase the height to save the Hyfax you put more stress on the Wheels and mounts . Check your back two idler wheels for cracks in the rail under the big washer . Mine cracked so I had it welded up and put Travis's 136" rail savers on and now no problems . It's not a cheap fix but I get 3500 / 4000 out of my hyfaxs . I prefer Travis's Clear hyfax I think they last longer than the colored ones

Thanks guys. I had no idea there was a kit like you pictured Steiner.

The sled has all new wheels(new spoked style) so I hate to buy more, but I know Kimpex offers a direct bolt on 135mm, which is 5mm larger than the Yamaha version.

If you are thinking of using the larger wheel I would suggest changing the wheel mounts. Factory mounts only use one bolt. I have done the Poo/Doo combo where you use the Doo mounts that utilize two bolts. One for the top and one for the bottom of the rail.
The two bolts lessen the stress load (of a single bolt) on the rail.
I believe RockerDan had a write about this.

I use the Pioneer Perf. drop kit on my sled. This uses new mounts that have two bolts and drop the factory wheels down 2.5mm. This drop is equal to the drop you get in using a 135mm wheel. I also added a reinforcement that link the rear wheels and rear pivot arm and a bar behind the wheels to keep the rails from spreading out and cracking. In this pics you can see the extra reinforcement at the rear pivot and wheel mount. The extra that goes from rail to rail like the rear axle bar is not in the pic but is mounted right behind the rear idlers.

I changed out the wheels on my LTX for the Excell wheels from Travis at BOP and replaced the hyfax with Dupont slides when I first bought my '08 LTX. They wore through right at the bend in a few hundred miles. The right side wore down to the rail, so I've got a slight wear spot there now. After that I added the marginal wheel kit as shown by Steiner above and replaced the Dupont slides. My first pair of Duponts didn't have Vespel inserts up around the curve in the rail, and that's where all the wear was. My new Duponts do have the inserts farther up the rail curve. So far with the Excell wheels, marginal wheel kit and Dupont slides I have very, very minimal slide wear after about 900 miles. Those marginal snow wheels are tiny and must spin at a zillion rpm, so keep an eye on the bearings season-to-season.

I'm a Kimpex dealer, but I don't like the oversize wheels. Don't seem to stand up.
Be sure to use the double bolt blocks, which it looks like you have. Also, when tightening these bolts, be sure to hold the block down as it is being tightened, and make sure the bolts are very tight so the block doesn't move up.
My 2 cents.

Whoops, I guess that is not yours pictured. If your skid has the early single bolt blocks, throw them in the scrap metal and get the newer style.
One other thing, when adding wheels be sure that when the suspension is fully compressed, they won't hit the upper guide wheel. I see this mistake often. Personally, I don't like the wee little wheels, never had much luck with them lasting. I stay with the normal size idler wheels.

i have o8 lts and put both kits on the one in front and the one in the picture use stock wheels and dupont slides 4k on them now still going strong.
