I wondered if anyone could give me a heads up on what changes I should expect to my suspension and carbides after studding my 136" ripsaw on my warrior. My suspension is out on the workbench so I figured this is the time to mess with it if possible. I am currently running simmons skis with 4" carbides all the way around and my suspension is set pretty soft. My limiter straps are at just about 50%. I am not a big guy as about 170lbs and am generally a trail rider and not much for boondocking etc. What's your experience been?

I've never really made any adjustments to my suspension, however the track will stretch a bit so keep an eye on your track tension.

you may have to reduce the weight transfer some but that only takes a few mintutes even when installed in the sled.

cool.... thanks for the input. You dont think I need to increase my carbides to 6"?

OOPS. LOL I didn't even notice you said you had 4" on there. As Pro said...6" min. I ran 8" on my 121 with 196 studs. ( 1.375 with a 1.25 ripsaw ) When I stretched it out to a 136, I only ran 168 up the middle and kept the 8" on, worked good for me.

did I read somewhere here that studboy was selling carbides that fit simmons skis? If so that would be great because they are expensive through simmons. If they arent does anyone know who else sells carbides to fit these skis????

136" x 1.25" ripsaw track with 162 1.375" studs, no changes in the suspension other than adjusting the transfer to match the added hookup. 8" of 60 degree carbides up front, steers well even on glare ice.

Bergstrom has tripple points for simmons skis. Get a set of those. Call Scott he will tell you what you need. Maxdlx

thanks maxdlx for the tip. I will call over to Bergstroms and inquire. I finished installing the hardware last night. We ended up putting in 108 and the v pattern looks like it should work well. Should I stiffen my rear shock a notch or so to prevent exhaust contact? It looks really close. I installed 1.40's.
