Does anyone know a place selling Phazer Turbo kit's at a reasonable price (ie not at full retail price)? Most places up here sell them at full MSRP of 5400, just seems steep for what it is...........

A turbo is a turbo ans cost the same if it goes on turbo apex or turbo phazer.

intercooler the same thing, header, are both a bit smaller, but not much gain in cost there.

that is why boostint a 80hp sled does not make any sense

I bought the mcx kit from pg yamaha for 5000. That was the best price I found and they are they canadian distributor for mcx and are very knowledgeable and helpful.

Not really accurate, smaller turbo, different header, smaller intercooler, there is also alot less included as standard parts in the phazer kit, an Apex kit is 7900 vs the Phazer kit at 5400, so there is a big difference in cost.

And as far as it not making any sense to boost an 80hp sled, maybe for you it doesn't, but for many it makes perfect sense.....

there is like 150$ cost difference between a gt2554 an gt2860 turbo.. so yes turbo may cost a bit less but not a whole lot less.

my point is the return on mods investment on a 80hp sled will be less than on a 140/150hp sled.

IF YOUN DID SEE ALL THE BLOWN UP TURBO PHAZERS AROUND HERE YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND THE -------NOT A GOOD INVESTMENT----------

MOST PEOPLE HAVE RECOGNIZED THAT YOU CAN SELL A PHAZER AND BY A 150HP APEX FOR NOT MUCH MORE AND IT WILL LAST.

GOOD LUCK ANYWAY.

Ok I was just playing around with mulot30th, I know the reason's people think turbo on a phazer is a bad idea, but for me the phazer is a fun sled to ride, and a natrually aspirated nytro is not as fun for me, I play in the steep and deep and n/a doesn't cut it. But I'm not loaded so a charged nytro is not really in the cards for me.

But, powder muncher are you serious with the blown engines, cause I haven't seen many. the few I saw was with people pushing the boost where they shouldn't have. I need some proof on this one to sway me.....

double a: I am not bashing, just giving my opinion. I have boosted Phazers and the guys that we boosted them for have not been happy. You have to do so much to make them viable. If you had a different front end and a new rear skid and a different track along with a turbo you would have a start.

I know this is a Yamaha forum, but you could sell the Phazer for around $4000.00, take the $5,000 for the turbo and buy a NICE used 1000 or 800cc 2 stroke sled that will MONKEY STOMP a turbo phazer.

Remember, even boosted you are only looking at 140HP.

Again, just what I have seen and not saying that you are wrong to want one.

That's cool, I don't have anything yet, but the plan was to buy the phazer, slap on the turbo, put on the 151 challenger and call it a day, 4000 for the sled, 3300 for the turbo, and 1000 for the track.

I would love to get a nytro honestly, but cheapest I can get is maybe 7000 for the sled, and 4500-5000 for the turbo, and that is no mods to track, suspension, etc etc. So you can see that is 4g more then the phazer.

I think the phazer will be a blast to ride which is my focus right now.

Everyone who has done this says they will monkey stomp a 1000 or 800 at elevation, so this is interesting to hear. I don't really know what the f%ck to do.

Feedback for boosted phazers on thsi site at least are all positive, and the negatives mostly come from people like mulo who own apex's or nytro's so how can I take their advice seriously?
