Could you guys help me out and list the manufacturers and if possible contact info for the aftermarket exhaust system manufacturers for the RX1.

Also, has anyone done any dyno testing to determine what the power gains have been?

Thanks in advance.

Freddie

what about Blackmagic Racing !!!!

Guy's, I bought my system from RT through Blackmagic Racing. They have teamed up to produce this new system. I have posted it before that this thing only gets about 2 to 3 HP but the sound is out of this world. Also the whole thing only weigh's like 6 or 7 pounds. You should really hear this thing, unfortunetly I have been only able to ride around my 5 acres right now in Mi, but am heading up north tomorrow night and going to try and ride on Friday. I will post what some of my friends have to say about it. :D

Can you post some pics?

is it designed similar to the stock exhaust? (4 into 2 - then crossover - then two pipes to muffler - two outlets)

Or is it 4 into 1 and out the back? (I'm guessing this one based on your weight savings #'s)

With all of the aftermarket exhausts that I've seen no real power gains 2-4 hp. Just like with the bike market with slip on pipes.
I would like to see someone build a complete system, with larger dia. pipes to make power in the top end. Like the bikes.

I think alot of the aftermarket guys would like to do this too! The problem lies with cost and what snowmobile guys are willing to pay compared to bike guys. Bike guys think nothing of dropping 700 bucks on a exhaust system. The other problem is room. There really isn't enough room in the sled to make the pipes the proper way to make power. You can only fit so much pipe in the spaces provided before you run out of room and things start to rub bad, or you have to remove material and most people aren't willing to start hacking out parts to make a muffler fit.

Freddie has gave us the first half of the recipe with the filters, and it would be nice for someone to give us a real exhaust to make it complete.

$700.00 buys an inexpensive exhaust system for a motorcycle today Rocket. I discount the Ti Force and Akrapovic line for all the newer High Performance bikes and I still get $1050.00 to $1200.00 for them depending on your desire for options. But, with the Ti exhaust systems, you get an entire system from the exhaust port back weighing in at under 9 pounds.

Given the time, this is my goal. Right now I have to supply an exhaust system for a customer but my attempt is 2-fold with this. I want to find the most powerful exhaust system out there and see if anything could be done to make it better.

Right now the biggest obstacle are those damn flex pipes that Yamaha puts as the primary header pipes. I am frightened that without those there and the fact that the engine is designed to move in the chassis via the motormounts that the header pipes if designed like a mototrcycle will begin to crack over time. I do have a possible solution already in place for this though.

The other biggest obstacle is that God only put 24 hours in the day! True Blue knows the big man well..perhaps you could put the word in that we need more time in each day TB.

Stay tuned! (no pun intended) and I agree that is one seriously ugly girlfriend ya got there Rocket.

Yes there was a company up in Canada last year that made a silencer for the RX-1 that made good power I think it had all new pipes from front to back and they did have a pipe cracking problem plus the cost of $1k.
