Hey.

Cracked the stock oil tank on my 08 MTX. Wondering what the best one is. I came across the OFT racing tank. I believe they do not make that tank and someone makes it for them, is that correct? I am from Canada so I am looking to get that tank in the cheapest manner. Or, a comparable tank with a Canadian supplier. Does anyone know of one? Thank you.

Where is your tank cracked, can you post a picture? Sometimes they are repairable. I've epoxied the lower bungs on a couple of them now with success.

I brought a TS Fabrication oil tank like OFT sells from Redline Engine Performance in Sylvan Lake AB. Got it last month from them for $300 Cdn. They are the distributor for north of the 49th.

Thanks guys. And to Nikolai, I haven't actually seen where it's cracked. I hit a rail road tie last spring and I store my sled in my old man's storage. He called me about a month later and said there was a puddle of oil on the floor so he popped the side panel and found out it was the tank. I haven't seen my sled since. I figure for 300 bucks I'd rather have the piece of mind that I have a tougher tank then just epoxy mine and have it happen again on one of my 1000 km trips.

thanks for the info....just bought TS oil tank from REDLINE, $320 Cdn, finding this was nice I ripped the bottom of my tank open during drain plug removal.

I know this is an old post but highly advise NOT purchasing from CFM... They state that they have a lifetime warranty on their tanks and unfortunately mine developed a leak at the base fitting recently. I emailed them with no response, looked for a contact number and there is none. Now I'm stuck with a bad tank and a worthless warranty! Highly advise going to REDLINE though... they at least answer the phone...

This post is really getting on in years, but I wanted to second this. I recently acquired a CFM oil tank which my buddy had briefly installed on two different Nytros, but both experienced problems with oil constantly blowing out the vent so it was immediately removed both times. He got in touch with CFM and they sent him an email instructing him to send it back for inspection and possible replacement. Long story short, that was back in 2016, my buddy sold his Nytros, and the essentially new CFM tank sat in storage until about a month ago...I picked up a Nytro with a busted oil tank and was offered the CFM tank, complete with the email chain authorizing return of the tank for inspection.

I sent a follow-up email to CFM forwarding the previous correspondence but didn’t hear anything back. I couldn’t find a phone number and have heard they don’t have a phone number for customers to call. After another follow up email, I finally got a response telling me that they have made revisions to the tank and that their equipment is no longer calibrated to test the tank in my possession. They refuse to honor the prior return authorization and, after practically begging them, said I could send it back for a small credit towards the new tank. Clearly Not the worst case of customer service anyone has ever heard of, but left a bad enough taste in my mouth that I decided it would not be worth giving them any future business...

The only tank to buy is the one that OFT sold. Not sure if they still do. I know the person that designed and still builds it
