Well i was doing some testing in a ditch very very short about 500 feet max. (more or less playing) But any way the sled is just SICK with the new big turbo. I was running about 15psi of boost and found out my wide band O2 is not working off idle. It reads like 19.5 and sicks there for a few mins even at idle. No big deal i am sure it is the Bosh sensor same one for a 1.5 years and lots of leaded fuel killed it right?? SO i pulled the O2 out and got a new one on the way. I thought i would look at my coolant it is full but i am getting that DAMN black headgeasket crap in there again. Last time it did this it lasted over one season. So what are you guys doing to keep the head on these sleds??? When sled was stock i pulled the head off and added a head gasket to lower comprsion it last 1.5 years then let go. Pulled the head off had a very had time seeing where it blew? But cleaned her all up new gasket sprayed both sides with cooper tone headgasket spray put in HD studs and TQ down with Teds set up. Was the killer not having the head check for flatness?? How many people have had a head not true on there Rx1? Should i do it over the same way and just send the head out?? What is the best way to do this getting very old! I think i am going to ride the sled and just keep a eye on it. Like i said last time it did this it ran great for 2000+ miles! What you guys think?? How the hell is the head going to stay on at 19-20 PSI????

THank you Skydog

I have seen a similare problem with an 05. Had to get the head done. Was not ture from the first incident. Owner blew a piston from too much heat.

Did you get all the crap out of the cooling system after the first time around? Did you flush the whole system with water till it ran clean then drain and fill back up with coolant?

Not to say any thing about the TUNE of your engine as Ted has stated but it is always good practice to check both surfaces for quality while the head is off.It would at least rule out a possible issue in the future. I have seen both the head and the block surface need attention in order to do the job right

Likely your just seeing the old junk still in there remember it wouldn't have anywhere else to go.

If the coolant level didn't change or overheat then I would agree that's it's probably old junk.

Yea it did not, i sure hope so i will watch her. I was not on her for more than 2-3 sec at 15-16 psi. On 100% race fuel.

15-16 lbs, you're getting there. Feels good? What is your compression ratio? How much boost do you aim for this season?

Keep an eye on the coolant level. Next time you give her wot for a 1/4 mile and if your gasket is damaged she will blow coolant. If not she's allright. But you already know that buddy.

I'm ready to ride but have very little snow to ride on and no trails opened yet. Temps are dropping, finally the lakes will freeze solid, at least I can be testing on the lake soon.

Yea it is sick now!! Just SINGS when you are on her!! HA HA Boost will be 20psi before year over, the turbo i put on is good for all most 30 psi! HA HA

Going up North over the 1st will know if she is good or not real soon!! :) :)
Thank you Skydog have a good new year!!!

:jump:
Sounds like fun ;)! hope she's alright then :flag: ride fast and safe :flag:

Happy new year SkyDog :-o

PS! Envy on your turbo - rxrider wants more too :tg: got to get a MCX400 turbo and join the party LaLaLa

Thank you !! same to you, if she is not ok i will pull her down and send head out and have some big inserts put in block and TQ to 60lbs ha ha

Hey - why don't we send our engines to Simon CPR, Ted or ECP and have them do whatever it takes to make our engines take the pressure we put on them. I know it will cost a little more than my budget is at, but it would have been nice having a built motor.

Yea for sure if mine gives me a pain this year that is what i will do!!
