Air box clamp fix

Mine kept on trying to slide off the bottom when I tightened the screw. How I fixed it this problem was take the air box off and open the clamps wide clean the clamp and the boot. Put your clamps back on and push them all the way forward past where they are supposed to go. Put a bead of hi heat silicone the red stuff on the boot where they are supposed to go and pull the clamp into place tighten in place a wee bit and let dry for 24 hours. After doing this the air box slid on like it was brand new and the clamps stayed where they should be.
 
just did mine last week, used a hot glue gun and layed a bead on the bottom of clamp. tired of mucking with them, fixed now.
 
Yes mine are solid too and man what a difference in ease to put the air box in place and tighten. Should have done this two year ago.
