hey guys i did my air box mod last year but did not jet up what has everybody ended up with for jets with the air box mod i ordered 145s that should be close i figure thats why my tach was pulling back at wot thanks

dont know how much you modded your airbox, but i have the entire bottom cut out of mine and run 170 mains. i run an 02 sensor so i know its right. i would bet money you are running too lean. a stock rx1 can run 137.5 to 140 in cold weather and see gains.

I did sled dogs air box mod. I am running 170 mains and 20 pilots. It does depend on how much of the air box was cut out. At least go with 165. Better to run rich than to run lean. Hope this helps

I had 170's all last winter and it was too much, it would bog when held open for a while. Got some 165's but have yet to run it with them in.

I just noticed this post and I wonder if someone can tell me what the gain would be in doing this? I know more oxygen, but how much?

also, I noticed my warrior's airbox was without the screen and other stock internals last year.. are these essential to performance? thanks

More oxygen plus more fuel equals more power but I think you knew that. How much on dyno I don't know but seat of pants is quicker throttle response little better acceleration and sounds better it is a little louder

In my rx1 there is a plastic screen and a piece of a washable plastic screen about 1/4 inch thick that is a filter you do need some sort of filter in there otherwise dirt and stuff can get sucked into your carbs. Maybe some one can chime in and help better with what the items are called. But you do need a filter in there. Hope this helps

thanks brian73... I looked for sled dog posts, but came up empty handed. maybe someone can link me or put up some pics.

Go to index, scroll down to mod results, I bumped it to the top for you. I don't know how to get direct link for you. If you do it keep us informed on how it turns out .

Thanks viper , one of these years I am going to have to learn how to do that from my Droid LOL

I was running 165 mian jets during teh 2009 season and changed to 170 main jets last season. I did not notice any performance of fuel mileage differences. For my type of riding, moderate speed crusing with an ocasional blast, either jet size will work fine for me.

thanks guys.. this is on my list of mods for sure.
