Hey guys, looking at doin the air box mod on my totally stock ltx DX. (Other than COTC) I have no plans on doing a muffler or anything like that. My question is-do I need a fuel controller if I do this mod? I have warranty for another year also, will this effect that? Or should I buy a spare air box in case an issue arises?

No fuel controller needed. Our red Viper ran with COTC and air box mod all last year and an great.

So I did the air box mod a while ago, Noe I've had some seat time, here's a few observations. With my cotc I had to add a .85 gram rivet to the middle but still overrevving fairly consistently even in not so great conditions. This tells me that it did make a difference in HP. But.... I have noticed a loss in torque-it doesn't seem to be as "zippy" as it was before. Also, it is noticably louder (drone) at all positions of the love flipper.... Any one else notice these traits?

I'm not a clutching guy (learning) I've taken the advice from Stingray how to set up my cotc and it's working perfectly! I only have weight in the tip and if I start hitting the limiter consistently I'm told to add more weight to the tip

I already have the 4.5's in the tip and the .85's in the middle, still over revving. Going to try the 2.44's in the middle and add 1 more shim (4 total) and try that.
