Anyone experience your air box plugged with snow?
Conditions fresh snow on open fields -30 degrees and can get about 10 miles distance and then air box is plugged!

Are your vent screens in tact, were the side panels fastened properly?

It’s my buddy’s sled he sent me a photo and asked if my Sidewinder had ever plugged the air box ? Mine never has!
He said he checked the cowling to make sure it was sealing on the intake, he also said the frog skin looks good on the intake of the cowling. He said every 10 miles he had to stop and clear the air box.

The only thing I can think of is the temperature he was riding in, -30 was the high and it was even colder when he was riding.

The only other thing it could be is the filter in the airbox was poorly installed or removed completely and allowed the snow to get in.

I was to wondering if the cowling maybe wasn’t sealing on the intake , and letting snow in.

I was a little surprised when he sent me that picture! He is a very experienced rider also so I bit surprised he couldn’t figure it out

We’re going riding this weekend and we’ll see if his sled is any different with the warmer temperature of -20 forecast.
He did say there was a new skidoo 850 with him and it was also plugging up.
