Air fuel gauge question?

Peteracing, thanks. I didn't even think to check the needles myself, or look in the manual. Needle adjustment coming up. ;)!

Sorry, wrong, no provision for needle adjustment on these babies. i suppose I could always put a washer under to raise the needles, but there are no clip adjustments on the needles. :(

Slymax..... my two cents worth.... looks like the o2 sensor is at the end of the exhaust line near the tail pipe opening.... Have a custom small block race engine in my bike with fuel injection.... I have found that reversion, or suck back from end of pipe leans out the mixture reading.... I would recommend moving the sensor way up on the pipe.... it fixed my problem...... if you look at any pro comp car, you will see the sensor mounted only 4-5 inches down from the port for the same reason..... needless to say, only a 3 wire heated wide ban is worth using.... also, once you getting a good reading, do not expect to see a steady reading,,,, i have never seen a gauge like the one you show in the pic giving a steady reading...

Kip, I have the heated 3 wire sensor. There wasn't really anywhere to put it close to the enfine, it would have been in the tunnel in the single pipe. I went back another 3 feet or so and mounted it right after the turbo, ahead of the muffler. I figured this way it would not be too close to the tailpipe, also lessen the risk of turbo damage in case of sensor failing, I have seen lots of these things disintegrate when they are a few years old.

Here is an option... install a 02 bun up close to the engine ... right where you would install an egt.... use this position for tuning... take it out should you fear it coming apart..... not sure i would believe a good boch unit would come apart..... but maybe better safe than sorry.... again,, your meter will show a false lean reading when located to near the outlet.... kip

A little blurry but a little on the lean side

check plugs if porcelane is redish its lean white is getting close and alittle brown should be good use a magnifing glass under light look for any shiney particles this will be aluminum if you have any your too lean jet up until you don,t see any shiney particles

Actually the best way to read the plug is to look for the silver going down the electrode tip. It shoud be about half way. More than that and it is too lean. A magnifying glass is necessary.
