We have started these sleds the traditional rope around the clutch way on one with weak battery. It can be done. For what its worth however, I travel with a small battery tender as a precaution and when the nights drop below 0 F I just plug it in and charge all night. Ready to roll the next day.
Good idea, that would be quite the pull.

I carry the Clutch strap that Cat puts in their tool kit. Warm the sled will pull over and start easy. Cold at -0 good luck! My 1000 two stoke was a bear to start with a recoil at -35 to -40. Electric start would not turn it.
The Yami starts at -40 cranks slow but if battery is in good shape it cranks for more then long enough to start. I carry a small portable 1.5 amp trickle charger that looks like a charger for your home electronics stuff but it has battery clips on it.
One hour on the battery in the morning while eating breaky and it brings a 5 year old battery back to new. Right after that I put in a new battery still carry the charger all folded up (don't use it) its no bigger then a small apple.
I also have the booster cables designed for Sleds, bikes. Have used them on another yami on a day trip. Everytime he shut off his sled it would not start. His battery was 7 years old and toast, Go Figure. All the Doo guys where taking pictures at every gas station or grub stop.

small set of jumpers will fit in the nose under the tool kit. no room for beers in the holders though.

yeah I guess a small set of jumper cables would be a good idea. What size cable is on them, the same sise as the battery cables or could they be smaller just to boost? I have acsess to unlimited size cable that works great for booster cables. Will these things stay running once started even with a screwed up battery.

Stomper,
Guess all the weight lifting makes it work. Trickle charger definitely easier......the jr. model.

another option if you ride with a lot of 2 stoke fans, I seen some booster cables that use the head light of a snowmobile that doesn't have a battery system. I forget who made them but sounded like a good idea
