Who's going???

Team Industries is going to be running a FX Nytro with their new TEAM secondary & jackshaft conversion kit for the FX Nytro. They were at the track for the first time yesterday with the sled and ran some pretty impressive numbers. Hopefully the traction will be as good and the air will be better at Martin so maybe they can go even faster! Ulmer Racing has helped them with a Power Commander setup to provide plenty of fuel under hard load/acceleration and an LCD screen for data information and tach replays as well as a 136" tunnel extension. Check em out at Martin!

Is that 116mph in 1320ft? If so, that is pretty impressive.... What's so great about the conversion ket?

Yes, that MPH and ET is in 1/4 mile (1320 feet). The conversion kit allows them to run their TEAM secondary which they say will shift out further than the OEM secondary. We will be testing the TEAM secondary on both the Apex and FX Nytro once the weather gets a little colder and snow gets a little closer!

I wonder how that will work with a cut primary?

TEAM goes 10.4's @ 117 MPH in testing at Martin MI today!

Allen, how do you think or how does Team think this will all transfer out to the snow?

Amsnow Shootout Results

We went 10.46 @ 117.3 on Friday. The air wasn't too great, but it was a bit better than it was at interstate when we tested last week. We actually went down a tooth in the chaincase on that run and pulled some more helix on the finish. We ran faster than a lot of stock 800's. Had a lot of people stopping by to talk about the sled.

I don't have my notes in front of me, but I will post our exact setup if anyone wants to try it on asphalt next year. We got 8.5% overdrive with a stock drive clutch using the TEAM secondary. Can't wait to test on the lake this winter.

On Saturday, Marlyn ran it in the bracket shootout and went two rounds before losing a close race to a local guy on a rev. I ran the sled on Sunday and lost in the fourth round (after buying back into the second). I cut a .001 light and ran .038 off dial and the other guy cut a .033 light and ran .001 off dial.

The stars of the show out there were Glen Hall and his 1200 turbo twin cat that ran three passes in the 8.0's and a 7.9 and Louie and Edwin Wirbel that won both Pro stock 1000 and all motor. In the all motor final, the 1000 Louie Bilt freight train outran Ron Bray's 1500 prostock by a tenth. (Did I mention that Louie uses TEAM clutching?)

Hey way to go guys. There’s a couple of names I recognize, Mark Schiffner and Marlin (or Gramps was it?). Welcome to the site Mark, if it’s the same Mark I’m thinking or at Interstate, it’s been a couple of years. We ran down there a few time, Murray and the Arctic Cat Zrt800 and myself, Don with the RX1. We’ve been wanting to get down there a few times and due to time and expense we’ve been running locally here. I considered going down there last weekend to shake things up, but chose to run up here and try to move up in the points, didn’t work, the driver (me) screwed up!!!! That’s racing!!!!! Take care, maybe we’ll try and get down there next year.

Hey Don,

Good to hear from you. Maybe we could have done better in Martin if we had some Lost Lake Pilsner.

Gramps is still running hard at 67. He wants to build a mod machine with one of our old 950 open class motors! I'll probably be back at Interstate next year with some ride. Or we'll have to make a trek up to Gimley.

Wow great numbers guys,i now have the 08 xp 8 doo,and have let to achieve anywhere near the top speeds of any of my yammi 4-strokes,even when i had my team secondary on my 03 rx1 i was able to run 117 gps speed on 2500 ft of nice ice lake, but the best i can do with this doo is 110 gps with stock helis set up,i am thinking about the new adjustable helix with the stock qrs set up,i was thinking of your complete team jackshaft/secondary set up,but for 700 bucks a little relutant to buy based on some who installed your set up last year, but did not go any faster on top,so what is your secret this year,or is it just the 10.5 skid and the tar getting those great numbers???

Last winter, with our TEAM conversion kit on a short tracker XP, we gained 5 mph on top end. Recall on the spedo went from 114 to 119 and radar said from a similar 5 mph gain. We haven't heard from anyone that didn't gain top end on a short tracker.

There were some mountain guys that lost some top end on groomed trails because we don't clutch for that in the mountains.

If you want more information on the XP conversion, give Jason or me a call at 218-846-6305. (Enough yellow talk)

As for the Nytro, from what I can see, the geometry of the stock driven clutch prevents it from shifting completely to overdrive. Granted, we got our asphalt sled to roll with the 10.5 inch track, but we hear from a lot of Nytro and Apex owners about the sleds hitting a wall at 95mph. That's one of the reasons we targeted this sled for testing.
