I was riding with a friend today..........getting really, really close to being "it" for up here........anyway, he was riding an 05 RS Venture.........so we're blasting down the trail and one minute he's there and the next time I look he's nowhere to be seen............find him 3/4 of a mi. or so back up the trail......sled simply quit on him at about 65. He said it sputtered and just died like fuel starvation. Since he's primarily a Ski-doo guy and this was only the 2nd ride on the Venture for him, I used the choke to get it re-fired and we rode for another 1 1/2 hrs. without incident. It was warm (41 F) but not THAT warm.

Any ideas??????

The sled doesn't shut down when it overheats...only when it's idling, not riding.

Dirty fuel filter? Bad gas? Loose electrical? Tors?

Same thing happened to me last weekend with my warrior! Sled was running fine, was not overheating, as I am always watching my temp. guage, suddenly it sputtered and stopped. on second attempt to refire, it was fine for the rest of the weekend. Very Wierd! I am thinking possible clogged fuel filter and she started sucking air, after it sat, the filter unclogged, or debris fell away from filter, allowing fuel to return? That is my only guess that i can come up with!

I had the same thing happen to me this past weekend! 2005 RS Vector 8,000 miles. Just quit like I hit the kill switch or something. Thought my stator went. Started right back up and rode another 100 miles without incident. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Had this happen to me two years ago. installed a shut -off to the liquid heated carbs, now when it is around 35 I shut off coolant to the carbs. Theory being that the carbs got so warm they were boiling off the fuel. Never had this happen again when riding in warm weather. I ride an '05 RX-1
