Hey guys just thought I would let you all know about my project.

I have an 03 RX1, had it for about 5 years now. Really love the sled.

Read all about getting rid of the Pro Action skid which has just happened!

I got a really nice skid from a 2012 (I think) Vector from Jim as Spa City Sled Parts end of last season.

He was great to work with, I highly recommend him.

Fellow member Brotherdan helped me out a lot on this.

While the skid was out I replaced my track. I had a real nice Ice Ripper not studded in it (its for sale now) and put a pre studded track that was a tack off a buddy sold me that is in great shape as well.

I painted it with POR-15 I was thinking about powder coating it but decided not to bother.

It was a learning process, I was a mechanic for 20 years so the job didn't scare me at all but I have never replaced a skid or track before. Also changed to PTO side jackshaft and driveshaft bearings even though they were in fine shape

Learning quite a bit about the sled in the process is probably the best part. Its pretty much all done at this point, just waiting on snow then I will trailer it back up to my cabin

While I have it here at home I am doing some other things to it like installing a heated shield and 12 v outlets.

One thing I did not do was have the shock gone through. I know I should have but I will use it for the season and see what I have then send it out in the spring.

Here are a few pics

Thanks for looking

Hey bud I know you&I have talked but I missed this post somehow.you did a great job,it looks very nice, your going to love the new rear suspension! Its either a 2012 or 2013 as it has the clicker shock(same as I’ve got&easy to adjust)happy trails

Hey thanks a lot I appreciate it!

STILL have not been able to test it out. Was planning on it this weekend since we finally have some snow at the cabin.

But my mother in-law is in the hospital with sepsis and other complications. She is 99 so anything like that is not good. We are sticking around now because of that.

Finally got to try it out last Friday for a few miles

My mother in law did pass away on Wednesday so I had to be around for the funeral on Sun and yesterday

I was able to run up to my cabin for the day and drove it around the area, but not on a trail

I took it on a little used seasonal road that I normally do about 25 on I was able to do 40 easily on it. So that tells me that its a huge improvement

My reverse needed adjusting for some reason. I noticed this right before I left. I just took a guess on the links and lengthened the top link a bit, seemed to fix it.

I did find the adjustment procedure when I got home and this coming up weekend we are going back and I will do the proper procedure and hopefully hit the trails and do a real test out

But I am happy with it so far!

Sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. Nice job, your back will appreciate it!
