Are shocks from 08 to 13 interchangeable?
Will shocks from a Nytro with wide ski stance (FX, XTX) fit MTX?
I have an 08 MTX.

I am not 100% sure but i believe when they changes the geometry of the front end somewhere around 2010 they went to a FOX shocks that were 16.5" center to center on the front shocks. Tho 2008 had 17.5" center to center so i dont believe they will work. they may still work but the front end will be about 1 inch lower.
The wide ski stance has little to do with the shock length because that is due to arranging spacers where the ski is attached to the spindle. the spacers are not equal in length. By switching them around you can move the skies in or out

The shock lengths are different on my Mountain RX1 compared to a regular RX1 with wide ski stance (wider a arms). Just didn't know if it was the same with the Nytro. I had a chance to buy some fox floats and good thing I didn't because they wouldn't have fit by the sounds of it.

Pretty sure all the shocks are 17.5's...xtx, mtx, rtx and for all years. From 09 forward anyway.
I have a set of the 16.5's floats which were a fox aftermarket for the older sytle MTX (08/09). Not really sure why they were shorter. Must have been there way of fixing handling or to make it bank easier I suppose?
My old 09 MTX had 17.5 as does my 10 XTX and 11 MTX
Interchangable I'd say.

Okay, if I see some Fox Floats for a Nytro for sale, I will assume they will fit my 08 MTX. Thanks!
