Another Turbo Question

The rear mount unit wieght is about the same as the stock rear exaust that is removed. So wieght distribution is about the same as a stock sled. As far as which one is faster, I think this winter will tell when more units are on the snow, and there are more head to head runs. The clutching is very challenging to dial in for the turbo, and I think it will get down to who can clutch better than who. But with that kind of horepower, and reliabiltiy, who cares its all good. None of your buddys will ever come close. On a personal note I have never seen a sled with that much power hold up so well in one season. I have over 2700 mi. on it last season and its still in excellent conditon. Will know better next year. I generally put on 4 to 5 thousand a year. last season was an R & D year for me with the turbo install and new sled. I got my turbo on the snow late in December. Anyways I guarentee you will have lots of fun. Just tell your buddys you did some air and pipe mods. If you need any help I will be glad to give you a hand.

jtssrx, if a system isn't designed to run at 6lbs it may not work well if it is run at 6lbs, (i think the mc was designed for 8 lbs.) however at its designed boost level it should make 190 hp. at best dukster is making 145hp if he hasn't gone into the engine, (cams, vales, porting, piston, etc.) if he has he could be making around 170 hp. either way he is short of hp, so it just goes to show that the turbo isn't set-up properly, this is just one more reason to buy the turbo from someone who can service your needs and give you a guaranteed turbo package that will kick #*$&@, we are seeing increases in speed of 20 +mph in the quarter mile, and over 1 second of time reduction to get there. union grove dragways are open on tuesday, wednesday, fri, sat, sun for the best racing you have ever done, all you need is skis, a track and special track adjusts. we can set you up with everything you need for around 850.00 you won't believe how much fun it is to go down there and run with the other sleds. plus you get a time slip for each run, so you can determine whether your changes are working for the better or not. jeff

Traction and clutching. Under most snow conditions and minimal studding the traction isn't good enough to use all the turbo's power. His warrior will pull ten lenghts on the lastest clutch package by BYU tuned to the filter package and with out the extreme RPM. His clutching advances the art rather than tune for a single set of conditions with 20 year old art.

The sled business has to many copy artists and lacks volumes to attract the people they need to advance the art. It also has to many bull #*$&@ artists selling products with false claims.

boss, e-mail me your phone #, i would like to have you and dukester come down to union grove and drive one of my turbo rx-1s. jeff

Boss, My post was a compliment. Again, he must have a very strong runner and I say hats off to him. 10 lengths is mighty impressive. Would you guys be interested in playing on the tar this summer? If so, you are more than welcome to borrow my asphalt track and skis, Id love to see dukesters sled on the tar and post some low E.Ts. To my knowledge the fastest stock RX-1 I have seen is 10.80 at around 114 MPH. Let me know, you would have a blast on the asphalt. Its safe, fast and lots of fun...BBY

I would like to see an acctual Dyno Chart on both units to see what kind of power Dukester makes with his mods and what kind of power the MC makes at 8 pounds of boost.

I can tell you from experance Our sled at 6 pounds beats my brothers stocker that is clutched and runs the best aftermaket race skid "expert X" with out a problem. My brothers RX-1 beats that crap out of any other RX-1 I've ran. AS a matter of fact I'd love to run Duckster with my brothers RX-1 to see if those filters make that much of a difference.

I think Traction, Gearing and Clutching are the key to a fast stocker.

Thanks guys for your offer but I have zero interest in tar racing. We have our Harleys to ride all spring, summer and fall which we enjoy emensely. We leave for Alaska next week with an open return date.

Now correct me if I'm wrong here Boss, but didn't I read somewhere that Dukester has his own protype clutch that he has built. The reason I ask is for the rest of these guy's benefit.

I thought I had read he designed a clutch that is much more efficient. This could contribute to the results against a turbo with a tuned stock clutch. Dyno numbers don't mean a thing at the crank if it is lost due to a less efficient clutch.

At 8#'s the McXpress is making about 205 HP I don't care what gearing and clutching and airbox mods to a stocker(140 HP), unless the turbo has no studs and the other is well studded, the HP of the turbo will kick #*$&@.

My point about Dyno number is this. Unless Dukester has some motor mods which a dyno would show there is now way he's close to a turbo "sorry"!!!!

If he is I'll sell my turbo and make his clutch mods to make a stock run like that!!!!

Guys all I can say is the new clutch design is extremely efficient. Dukesters son (my God son) showed me the report they got from an independant test firm, while Dukester was in Florida, that shows the clutch is far more efficient than existing designs. :ORC

Several potential buyers also viewed a demo by the testing company. The results is they have received three closed bids for the patent rights. The interest from the lowest bid is more money than I could reasonablely ever spend.

Dukester I knew you had in you buddy. :-o

Thanks for the replies. I put a deposit on a Bender Stage 2 this morning. I decided on a rear mount because I wanted to keep the full size fuel tank and to try and keep the sled as light as possible.

Delivery is expected in October, with a quieter version than the current Stage 2.

Also, I guess I'm well on my way to the old farts group. I turned 52 last month. :-o

BigDog05: Our kit keeps the stock gas tank!!!! and is 30 pounds lighter then stock.

Plus it's only 3500.00. You can dial up the boost and make the same Hp as the others without out having to pay more for the kit.

Boss I hope Dukester doesn't read your latest posts. #$%&*

You know better than telling family business! :ORC

Dukester doesn't whant the world to know about his personel business ventures. #$%&* #$%&*
