anyone have antifreeze leak from running board heat exchangers where the skid mounts to the tunnel?

I did on my RX1 had it welded not long after it happened to the other side had that one welded and it held up pretty good. Never had a problem with my attak YET but i never exactly babyed the RX1 either it went through some rough times lol.

There are no sings of any impacts. The leak is on both sides of sled where the black metal brackets mount to the tunnel. The brackets are what attach the skid to the tunnel. the heat exchangers are sandwiched between the tunnel and the brackets.

You must be riding standing a lot? if so you're FLEXING you running boards and causing them to RUB against your rad & suspension brackets and wearing a hole, get them welded and install a thin peice of rubber or plastic at the wearing point (between bracket & rad) and you'll be fine...common for guys riding standing up.

Thanks thats kinda what I thought it was. just wanted to know if anyone else had the same problem.

I took my sled to the shop today and after they took it apart they told me the heat exchangers were fractured around the mounting holes for the suspension brackets. The also told me this is not something they have seen often. Has anyone else had anything likr this happen before?

I searched and dug up this old topic but I just took my sled out of storage and found that my Apex is leaking in the same area. And--I do stand alot. My question is...does anyone know if the YES Warranty will cover this? Or not?

Yes I had that happen on my 03 RX-1, a good welder will fix it no problem, but you will have to remove it from the sled and have it properly cleaned before welding. Anti-freeze and tig-weld does not mix very well, how do I know....hahaha by haveing it welded on the sled, it started leaking right away. Had to buy a new one to stop the leaking LOL.
