Does any one know if R1 motorcycle coils will work on an RX-1 sled I think they should because its the same motor any input ?

Well I got some from a 2004 R-1 and they installed great very tight and my sled fired right up and no more light show, 2005 R-1 coils look like they will fit as I got a set of those too.

The light show was being produce from lack of maintenance the excess residue that collects on the coil causes the arcing if you clean them and more importantly use di - electric grease on the inside this will eliminate the arching.
