I have an 09 ltx I have my rear spring on the stiffest setting and I still bottom out does anyone else have a problem bottoming out.The shock was bad and was just replaced under warranty. Anyone that has upgraded to a big boy spring does it prevent this,is it a stiffer spring. Don't have 2000 for a zx2 suspension So any ideas

sounds like you need the stiffer spring, i have a 07 apex gt that was bottoming out switched in a 7.0 kg spring and cured the problem. it all depends on your weight/riding style. and set it up accordingly. pioneer performance is a good place to get the right setup

clip

you can move your clip to the 3rd position and have shock re-valved that's the cheap way, it works.

There are 3 clip positions to add more spring preload. You need to remove the shock and have some kind of spring compressor to do it. Watch it if you put it on the 3rd (most preload) clip position I have seen the spring rub the shock body.

I went with the high rate spring and moving to the 3rd c-ring. Also have the shock re-valved. Going 280 without gear this worked well. Since then I have lost some weight and moved the c-clip to the 1st position.

My 06 Attak has 2 rub rails mounted at the top of the shock. This will prevent the track from rubbing on the shock. So no probs there

Shock rebuild by Pioneer and the 6.5 spring. Works great, I weigh 215lbs.

I'm 385lbs without gear and I ride an '07 Apex GT. Installed the 8.1kg spring, the largest offered by Ohlins, and had Bruce at Pioneer revalve the shock. Only bottomed when riding REALLY hard in the whoops and I'm happy with the ride.

what was the cost for the entire job including shipping??????????????????? I'm about 225 with gear. gotta do something I like to fly over stutter bumps

The spring was 99, and Bruce will tell you what it's going to cost ya...I fly over them too, no bottom...only on BIG moguls.

100 for the new spring an another bill for the revalve. and $12.53 for shipping. depends on how much insurance you put on it. seems like theres a new bump stop now also. You will like it after that forsure!
