i was just wondering if anyone has done it yet haven't seen any yet

WOW I have never heard of a LAG problem. Is it? Or is this something available from other Turbo systems that may make the Viper even better?

I suspect what he meant as previous turbo kits like in the Phazer era had a very noticeable lag. My old 2007 Phazer had a full two seconds or better lag from when you hit the gas. The MPI turbo for the Viper has little to no lag in the test runs I did on 4 different MPI turbo sleds on same day at the demo.

no im not saying theirs lag im asking if anyone has done it yet

Maybe he is talking about the Stutter mode PCV offers. Let's you hold a button to get turbo to full boost before launch. Ulmer would be one to ask and I believe Shagman is planning on it.

I have a stutter setup going on mine, I'm assuming that's what u mean? Swapping out the gems controller and going with a complete powercommander setup and it accepts the stutter button function. It's a summer time project so like anything regarding sleds in the summer when it's 90 degrees, it just gets put off lol looking forward to getting it all hooked up and seeing what it'll do.

Yup these things roll your eyeballs back from the first push of the go button! Its not like the old rear mount Bender systems that hit after about 2 to 3 seconds.

I don't think it's so much the fact of turbo lag, the thing with a stutter or launch system is that you can launch at a couple pounds of boost in comparison to launching on vacuum or negative boost, what's gonna launch harder? Something at say 130hp or something at 150-160hp. Granted you need the traction to make it work, but when you have a setup that'll hook up there will no doubt be a noticeable difference, plus the stutter is just down right cool

I thought about going that way but after running 2 D&D XF 1100's supposedly both over 300 hp and beating the one and only losing by less than .020 in 660' to the other with a 140 lb kid on it I decided its not that big of an advantage. I feel I would lose too much traction if mine hit any harder on launch. Even with the XTX suspension coupled and the front nose chained down I am lifting the skis almost 2' on launch and carry them through the trap on the far end. I need more gear and to figure out how to get the nose down cause I am maxing out about 3/4 through the run at 102 mph. All of my energy is spent on lifting the front and then the wind resistance is terrible. Plus steering is all body English which puts me out into the wind like a chute.

The stutter does work on the power commander but the only problem is that when the button is pushed the ignition module will not adjust timing, so you can't pull timing to make boost consistently. I ended up going with a launch master and the power commander with ignition to do it.

Is that with the standard pc5 or the new pc5 pti? I have the pti unit going on mine (specific for forced induction) but maybe that won't matter, probably won't find out until weather gets colder and actually start to play with it.

Yes I have the pti, when the button is pushed timing stays at zero and we could not get it to build boost, on 2 different sleds with 2 different power commanders and ignition modules. It took a bit to figure out how to get the launch master to work on the viper, but now it works awesome
