I am running an 06 APEX GT with Bender Turbo and 192 Woodys 1.325" studs. I am having a big problem with the studs ripping into and crushing the exhaust system at the Y pipe, anybody else having problems? Getting very expensive replacing and fixing these pipes.

You need to add extra tunnel protectors, I used hifax and revited them in place.

We already welded an extra probably 1/4" to the existing protectors. Did you rivet the hifax to the existing aluminum protectors?

Mine just touches the brace below the pipes.
Good idea adirondac blue. changing my hyfax this weekend.

Yes, added almost 3/4 inch. If you are careful and have the track out you can make the bend in front.

No pics but when I am bottoming out the studs are actually denting the exhaust and cutting into it in the mid section by the Y pipe. All the sudden you sled starts to get louder and the boost goes way down as the exhaust that feeds the turbo is escaping through the holes in the exhaust. I'll try the hyfax route and see how that works. Just went to an M-10 so I wouldn't bottom out but still had the problem last weekend.

Our Rages and Attak haven't done that yet. How loose do you run your track? I suppose it could ballon up if there is extra play in track. We added hyfax to ours in the back. I wasn't aware of the front,I'll keep that in mind. Thanks, plowking

Don't put your studs so close to the center. Space them out a bit from the center of the center belt.

tighten the track..

That turbo is going to cause alot of track flex..

Ive got 7200 miles on my sled with the OEM track and studs 1.325s and very few knicks at the back of the sled where that little aluminum bar crosses,, thats it..

No marks on the pipes themselves..

Does anyone have pictures of what they have added to the tunnel protectors. No pipe damage yet but the new rea heat exchanger that the dealer replaced is still being hit by the studs even after they added the OEM tunnel protector designhed for these 136" sleds. The cuts are not nearly as deep as the last time but more protection would really help. Going out this weekend before the next big storm, hopefuly I don't see any green fluid before I get the tunnel protectors beefed up.

I run my track extremely tight. My stock track flew apart at 3000 miles so just bought a new ripsaw track that is already predrilled for studs so using there stud pattern. Mostly happens when doing hot trail riding over moguls and bottoming out. I'm going to put hyfax up in there tomorrow after I fix it again.

Don't have to be turbo to destroy them. After 500 miles, the back aluminium plate was all byte off from the studs +++ change one exhaust system. Since then, I have switch to 1"track. Now it's much better, almost not touching the exhaust pipe.

Yummy

Seen this before with the Bender rear mount. When exhaust gets red hot and expands, it flex's downward, bumps in the trail compound this effect. I have seen the Bender Y pipe work its way right out of the slip joint going into the turbo from the expansion and contraction. When the pipe can't slide back into the joint, it has no where else to go but down. The studs hitting the pipe is the secondary effect of the warping pipe. MCX rear mounts are notorious for this also. Added heat and pressure distort the tubes pretty bad, enough to allow them to settle below the protectors and chassis.
