just wanted to know if anyones reverse lever sticks so hard that you cant pull it into reverse when it gets into the -20s? and is there any fix?

Never had a problem (thus far) with my reverse lever.

Kind of, my reverse lever didn't totally stick on my '05 Rage but it was stiff. Don't remember exactly how cold out it was (-15F or so) but it was a little stiff. Kind of like when you have a heavy oil in a manual tranny and it gets cold out.......just doesn't like to move to fast. After I rode the sled for a bit everything warmed up and it worked just fine. I just try not to use it right away first thing in the morning.

Only time I've ever had problems with reverse is when the gears aren't meshing. Just a little flip of the throttle (with brake lightly on) and then everything is fine.

Maybe at -20, the gears need the best alignment to mesh....I know at -20 I would need help too!!! :drink:

I have never had a problem once it is warm. Just the one time when it was really cold out. I wouldn't worry about it too much unless it starts doing it all the time. I don't really think it is the oil in the case that is getting cold and making it hard I think it is the grease on the sliding parts of the linkage that get gummed up.

Ditto. The only time I had a problem was first thing in the morning when it was 30C below or colder. Ice can build up around the lever overnight. What I have learned to do is always park the sled at night so that I can go forward first thing in the morning.

My reverse lever froze once when it sat outside in cold weather. I cleaned the metal shaft and linkage and lubed it and it hasn't happened since.

Also make sure your park brake isn't on when trying to shift into reverse. Mine was once and I couldn't get the gears to mesh until I released the brake.
