No I haven't rode the 07 RTX, but with the 4 cyl and Apex bodywork I would assume that it may be a bit heavier? I however did put my deposit on it today up in NH.ericsno said:Anybody ride a 07 rtx and does it feel heavier than nytro, does it ride better and handle better or worse.

I have a 06 Nytro and I rode the 07 RTX's (2 different ones) at the TY demo day in Munising a little over a week ago. The 2 RTX's were setup "normal" and "fatboy". OBVIOUSLY, I liked the second one better (I go right at 3 bills in riding gear). I've got about 1100 mi. on the Nytro and about 8 on the RTX so it's not a fair comparison but I thought they handled almost identical except just a tad more "snot" when you pull the trigger. And of course the sound. Overall, I'm tremendously impressed with the ProActive skid.

Do you feel that the ProActive skid has more weight transfer, than the mono?buddah2 said:I have a 06 Nytro and I rode the 07 RTX's (2 different ones) at the TY demo day in Munising a little over a week ago. i definately feel the proactive had more weight transfer than the monos that were up at the demos.... i own a proactive vector and it transfers weight great, and the ones at the demos did as well.... the mono, i believe, if set up right transfers like a mother too..... the ones at the demos didnt seem to transfer as much, but alot is in the setup....
my 2 cents....
my 2 cents....

did u feel u could stand as good on the apex as the nytro,i feel this is the easist sled to stand up over rought terrian on.
I think it's a little easier to satnd on on the nytro sled nut the rtx bars seem to be a tad lower I think that's why.The 150's you have to be careful when standing up compared to the 120's because so much engine braking I almost went over the bars a few time's,lol.I think put another 2" in the riser and it will be easy to stand and not be hunched over the top of the bars.I'm 5'10" by the way.

Both skids are awesome in thier own ways. The mono is the stutter bump king but bottoms easily on certain bumps. The CK reminded me of my buddies Pro-X 700. Pretty good on most everything and awesome on the big stuff. We rode on slush in muni and the RTX/Nytros had the best weight transfer IMO. I don't know if ergos have alot to do with weight transfer but the 06 mono shorties do not transfer like the 05 RX-1 mono's. Maybe unless you dial it in 06.
i think if you are a stand up rider, a 2 inch block would definately be the ticket.... an optional package from yami would be sweet... hmmm... aggressive pkg.... higher bars, running board traction/support, slightly stiffer shock valving in any package shocks/suspension... wow that would be nice....

I'm not sure why you would say that because I believe the 06 mono actually will out handle and will give better weight transfer then the 05, just by of the weight is now more centralized and not hung over the front end.Superman said:Both skids are awesome in thier own ways. Yeah I rode the 07's, I thought that the new RTX was a little stiff ( there were 2 at the demo) compared to my RTX (with fatboy spring) Trails conditions weren't the best, but compared to the Nytro, I thought the Nytro handled and performed much better then the new RTX. As far as a weight difference, the Nytro did feel lighter. Maybe it was set up a little different or Maybe it's because I decided to get a Nytro for the Wife, so I was telling myself it was better either way, The new RTX with a little adjustment will be great, But that Nytro sure is FUN to whip around...

I don't know what to tell you. I had the 05 RX-1 now I have the Attak. My best friend has the 06' E.R. and we have switched machines. We are constantly telling each other that the 06 does not lift the skis like my 05'. Infact another one of my riding buddies still has his 05 RX-1 and it's wheelie city all day long on the RX. Transfer dial on all the sleds is in the stock middle setting. The engines are in the same place just tipped alittle on the 06'. The rider is more centralized on the 06's and that is what I was questioning. I'm not saying the Apexs don't transfer weight it's just not what the 05's were. infact you could argue the 05's had too much weight transfer for some riders. As far as ride quality the 06's blow the 05 away. The 07' RTX with the CK skid is for the jumping and the really big bump crowd...If you see the big stuff and like nailing the throttle the CK is the skid to have Trust Me.
