Just wondering if any of you have dynoed your RX sled with undertunnel exhaust/glasspack?? It would be nice to know if there´s any gains in HP or not.

I have the undertunnel exhaust on my RX and it feels like its more powerfull than with the stock exhaust. Or maybe it is just because of the sound im thinking its more powerfull?? But one thing im sure of. It is a lot snappier when hammering the throttle.

Also I have no longer problems with very cold weather starts any more. It just starts right up when turning the key. Not so before the undertunnel exhaust mod. It tended to foul the plugs in very cold weather with stock exhuast. After the exhaust mod it just starts right up.

I feel the same way!

I had a white knuckle exhaust on mine (which was supposed to increase horsepower). I noticed a huge difference in torque in the low, midrange particularly when I went to the single glasspack.

Until that ride I had been on the fence about going to the sigle pipe. One ride was all it took for me. Apparently, Yamaha gets it too since the Nytro and Phazer come with single pipes.

I'd love to know the difference in hp and torque too, because my butto-meter tells me there is more than a little bit more power with the ECP filters and single pipe.

What's his name (Freddy I think) on the air intake whatever its called forum dyno tested the ECP kit and it gave if I remember 18 horse midrange and a couple on top, but its in the midrange where you really get the goods. Helps the accell tons. If you do a search you can probably find it soemwhere from 2003, or 2004 or so.

Yes Freddie did have the dyno info for the ECP filters and he talked about marketing a single pipe, but I never saw or heard of one.

Surely someone has a dyno available?

Take a look in the classifides. I have a Yamaha R-1 pipe I planned to use for my sled (but didn't use) for sale very inexpensively.

You'll just need a welder and a Y pipe (which I am also selling in the add, actually there are two).

Good luck

The undertunnel definetly feels like it adds some ponies but it may just be the rumble. In deep deep powder when the track is pushing snow back up at it, it bogs like a mo-fo. Its a great mod but still in the process of R & D for a remedy.

I have a Napa glasspack and it definately feels snappier, just a few spins around the yard but I can feel a difference. Goes against all the discussion that an exhaust mod will have little effect on HP with 4 strokes...a longer ride will tell the tale

Thats exactly what i felt first time i tried out the sled with the undertunnel exhaust, a lot more responsive when burbing the throttle! Is that a word "burbing"???

it also felt stronger when out in the mountains. The undertunnel exhaust isnt so restrictive as the stocker thus providing more airflow. Does more airflow equal more hp?? If that is the case it should ad some hp to the 4 stroker!

Oh well with out the dyno numbers we cant really be sure if it is stronger than with the stock exhaust.

I'm with you guys!

There's no doubt in my pea brain that there is an increase in torque (you can feel torque). I think the under tunnel exhaust and the ECP filters (18hp in the midrange plus another couple hp for the velocity rings) go together like peas and carrotts.

I also bumped my timing up about three degrees and played with my TPS setting. I have an Holtzman ATACC, Fitch fuel catalysts in the fuel tank and All in all, the sled absolutely rips.
