ANYONE FIRURE OUT HOW TO STOP THIS TRACK HOWL, Now that I have 1000 miles on my vector I have the track howl started around 650 miles and now is loud, I know there was a post earler on this, But was wondering If anyone has figured out how to make it stop? I am going to Fully clip My track I wonder if this will Help?

Last year I could not take the noise anymore. This fall I had a fully clipped 136" quiet track installed. I have about 500 miles on it with no track noise beyond any other sled. The track was only $380 with shipping from Ken's Sports. The 121" should be less. If the noise does come back after 500 miles, than I will know it must be the slides as they get worn down a bit. Also, there is a recent post about using Polaris wheels that helped.

I thought we had pretty much figured out that it would take a Quiet Track version of the Ripsaw to get rid of the noise...

I think it primarily has to do with snow conditions. There is a super long thread about this topic in the suspension forum and it goes into great detail with what guys have tried.
My experince has been that on hard packed snow or on a road with an ice base, the track noise it terrible. Same riding areas with snow, don't notice the track noise. Here in AK we haven't recieved any significant snow for the past month. I've got to other, older 2 stroke sleds and I noticed they also have a track howl noise when ridden in the same conditions as my Vector, only that it is less noticeable bacause the 2 stroke engines are so loud. My Ski-doo has an 1.5" 121 and my old Trail Indy has maybe an 1" by 136.
Still, the Vector is loud and because Camo came out with a "quiet" Ripsaw track, that tells me the problem mostly lies with the stock track.

Bingo!

Keep faith man... bunch of folks in here still givin their best shots.....
All i have done so far is to reduced the noise just a bit....but i tell ya.. once all the conditions get together... it is still very noisy.
Last move i made is that i replaced both rails on my 2005, for the 2006 one and installed 4 more accessory whells... hood for the Hyfax but did not brought the noise to acceptable level.
I'am onto some else next week-end if time.... I will not fight my Dozer theory(althought it initiate the problem) anymore but instead fight its side effect. It occurs to me at this time that the pigging of the wheels onto the fiberglass reenforcment bar(the Dozer effect), generates at times, frequecies that are amplified(resonnant) by the......................strait part of the coil spring. There are several reasons why i came up with this but mainly... the fact that once you place the 2up block in then this frequency will change.. speed at which it does it & so on. What i'd like to test is to wrap a 3/8" square bar around that part of the spring to damp its vibrations.
