Hey guys I'm selling my 08 fx nytro rtx (40th) and have had no luck so far, if anyone has I could use some help.
Problem is i'm getting calls and the first question is generally "have you updated to the 09 subframe/spindle" when I tell them no they say forget it. Anyone have a good way around this issue?? Maybe totally yamaha can go and delete all the posts about front end issues? that would be greattttt
Price wise i'm thinkin its pretty reasonable for an 08 with only 2500 km. Askin $8800 cdn but maybe its too much? Sled is in good shape and everything i've broken has been replaced.
Any help would be appreciated as I need to sell this beast.
Thanks

I know that there is a local dealer selling an 09 fx nytro (non rtx model) for $6500 (us dollars) brand new. I think you will be stuck with it for that much money.

I'm not sure the photo's you've posted are working in your favor.
When people ask about the front end, you could say it was your understanding that '09 sub-frame and spindle combination was developed by Yamaha for the girl's version of the sled. You know, play to the primitive lobe of the perspective buyer's brainstem.
Do you have a dealer up there that would take it on consignment?

Good luck on that. There is two new 08's on Ebay right now for 4550 US currency. These things are getting well known now.

Just got word a lady is very interested. I sold a sled on consignment last year and still haven't got the $, would rather not go down that path again. Dealers around here are selling sleds with wayyyy higher miles for as much or more then I'm asking, sled has the extended warranty also.
That eBay price is highly suspect

What are the links to these 2 sleds? I couldnt find them. I'd buy a spare sled for that price!!!Daddy said:Good luck on that. There is two new 08's on Ebay right now for 4550 US currency. These things are getting well known now.

I am with arteeex on this one. Simply tell them the true story. People that really are aggressive trail riders - not only pretending to be aggressive trail riders - had no issues with the 2008 geometry. In fact, they appreciated the quick steering response and they could not care less about some internet hype stability issue. It is not like the front end was redesigned because the factory snocross riders said it turned too quick, is it...?

If it were me, I would either buy all the parts to do the upgrade, or actually have it done.
When people call, tell them you prefer the ride of the front geometry but you have all the parts to do it (either offer to do it for them or sell the parts with the sled).

$8800 don't seem like a bad price to me... here in NL the 08 nytro's i seen for sale were around $10 000 used. Here in NL the nytro cost almost $15 000 tax included and we do have to pay tax don't forget. By the look of the price of the 2010's i'd say the 08-09's will sell off pretty fast this summer.

I think what hurts is all the money Yamaha is giving off of the 2008 left-overs, I just bought a 08 anniversary Nytro 2 weeks ago here in the US. I got $2000 off from Yamaha, then they had some kind of stimulus sale that gave me another $800 off. It ended up being $7999 plus tax and title.

I agree, especially up here and at this time of the season. All you're likely going to get right now are the guys looking for a smoking deal.

I agreee the geometry isnt bad the problem is that the subframe isnt " reinforced " I saw an 08 rtx for sale in winnipeg for 11000 cdn at the dealership . 200 dollars more than the non rtx 2009 right next to it . price isnt a problem . you have the warrenty let them know that yamaha is warrenting the bent subframes. they shouldnt have a problem with warrenty as long as there shop is half decent and they dont have an oak tree trapped in the front end . also explain that the 2010s arre more money
