Hey Everyone just wanted to let everyone know how the Nytro did in the Montains.
08 Nytro
136" extention
1.25" ripsaw
2" riser
reduced to gear by one tooth
Well to start out we went to Mcbride BC in Feb and saw snow bases from 6-15ft and we got 1-2ft fresh everyday we were there. The snow was very heavy and wet.
With the upgrades I did the sled works well as a boondocker but I think my 97 Phazer Mtn lite was a better climber (HAHA). My expereince is that you need to push the throttle alot to get the sled to come over on its side. the torque of the machine was amazing for pulling through the heavy snow often performing better that the DOO renegades I was with. I did buy a full skid plate while I was out there and installed it after scraping the junk mounting bolts it came with and drilled two extra holes towards the front to make sure it stays on and it made a huge difference for flotation.
Next year I would like to put a 2" paddle on it and some simmons skis. has anyone put a 2" paddle on theres? If so what other changes needed to be made?
Anyhow I'm very happy with the sled and I'm very sad that the snow is melting but looking forward to next winter and hope it brings good snow early. I'll try to put a pic up of the group out there
