Anyone had their rear shock blown?

I've just returned from a trip in the backcountry and had my rear shock absorber blown after climbing a hill with bad trenches from a previous trip. Has anyone had their rear shock blown on the apex mtn? I have just over 1100 km on the sled and wouldn't think a shock would go so soon...
Are the rear shocks rebuildable or do I have to get a new one?
