Anyone have problems with multiple head gaskets?

I say #$%&* Cometic! They are JUNK! This is huge and its going to cost me. They will be getting a nasty phone call today! #$%&* #$%&* #$%&*

I feel your pain freak, the guys at Valley Yamaha were real good to me and gave me a HUGE break on labor. Fact still remains though that a faulty product caused all this and someone should be liable either mcx, comtetic , ??? Its such a grey area that we (the little guy who buys product) will always loose out in the end and end up paying so we can just get out there.

gasket

Hi Freak, I feel your pain too. Paid a shop to replace my head gasket with cometics thicker gasket and it leaks. How much copper coat would I have to use to seal it. SCREW THAT! Putting stock ones back in. Good luck.

So sounds like stacking stock ones is the only way to go! If i stack two what kind of boost can i run on pump gas? Three sounds scary to me? Am i wrong?

Thank you Skydog

Skydog,
I have been running three with no problems from 10 /11 on pump 12 13 on 50/50 and now 15 for the bis on c12 and Friday going to 17 on c12.Now if I had only put 2 in I might not have ventured this high .

I have talked to guys who wish they had put three in to be on the safe side. They won`t venture past 11.

Just a thought and good luck

The turbos I ride with, rs vectors and rx1's (myself included) all have bender turbos with stock motors and gaskets. We are running 14# boost on a 50/50 mix of 110 race fuel and 92octane super unleaded. No-ones had any problems all season (some guys have 3 seasons)

The best advice I can give anyone on the head gasket is.....Leave them alone. When you lower your compression you will lose power., so what's the point? If Yamaha wanted multiple gaskets in there, they would have put them in. I run 12 PSI boost with excellent results, never have touched a bolt on my engine.

You could talk to SuperDave at Powderlites. I believe he has developed some .090 gaskets. His stuff is first quality.

Like i said a few times, do not use COMETIC gaskets unless you examined it's "bumps" around ALL oil and coolant passages LOTS of those COSMETIC
gaskets faulty :drink: :drink: :drink: :drink:
use Yamaha ones!
