Anyone have Simmons Flexi Skis?

Just wondering if anyone is using the gen 2 or gen 3 simmons flexi ski. I'm picking up a pair but unsure of which ones i should get. I do 50% off trail and want to prevent plowing but i also don't want it to look i have two canoes strapped to the spindles. Any input good or bad would be appreciated.

I got the 2's, they look big, but they really float in the powder. Have had them on the Apex and Nytro. They work well. If I could find another set at a good price, I would buy a set for both sleds.

I run Gen. 1 on all my apex's but I trail ride 95% of the time, best all around ski I've run. good luck

The gen 3's would be better then gen2s if you like to side hill and carve.The gen2's are a little too wide.I just got a set of gen 3's.
All of the oft boys use the gen 3's also.

Thanks for the input. I contacted a company here in Ontario that claim to stock them. I told them i wanted a set of Gen 3's and the reply i got back was "the company is a joke". I been searching a few companies from the USA and i can get a set to my door for $466 cdn including regular dual carbides and mount kit. I love it when our dollar is almost on par with the US.

How wide are the Gen 1 nytroD? I checked the Simmons website but i couldn't find specs. Thanks.

they are at least an inch wider than stock. i can measure them this evening.

Gen 1's are 6" wide, Gen 3's are 8" wide. I know Gen 1's float excellent and I assume the Gen 3's even better.

I use my Gen 1's for mostly trial riding and they are the best all around trail ski I've found. Track very smooth and straight and eliminate all darting. If you trail ride extremely aggressively you may want to go C&A as the one drawback to Simmons is cornering at extreme speeds when the trails have several inches of slop -- Simmons can float on the slop and lose some bite, just a warning is all. They just float too well is the problem really, which is a good thing. Every ski out there is a trade off -- go for the ski type that best suits your riding style. They will all have their good and also their drawbacks.

Unless you are in bottomless powder, forget the Gen 2's as they are really wide and you don't need them that wide. Makes fitting them in a trailer tough too.

I had Gen 2's on the 40th for a winter... on trail, can't notice any different from 1's as the carbides are the same and placed in the same location(6" apart)... and of course everyone comes over and looks to see the surf bords on the front... PITA tho on a trailer... so opted back to the Gen1's.. I think i'm gonna try out a pair fo the new yammy skis for the wifes sled.... they have my attention especially for the price.

. I was checking them out at Hay Days. They seriously look like canoes on their. Very wide!

If C&A is your poison, then I'd go XTX version. Only 3/4 of an inch narrower.
