Anyone stud their xtx 1.75 ?

My friend just baught a 2013 nytro xtx with a 1.75 track and was debating on studding it, has anyone studded theirs? If so how many and what pattern. Thanks

Thats just crazy to stud a back country off trail track... why?? you would need a 2" stud and those are just going to fold over and tear out. I would leave it alone, thats how I run my Nytro with a 1.75

Tell your "friend" that you have no need to stud that track. It hooks up wickedly on takeoff and it really grips when you are on the binders. Like Mr Sled said, studding that size of a track will only cause carnage on your machine. After the first ride you will see!

That's what I was telling him but I wanted to get some more input because I've never ran such a big track, thanks for your replies.

I had a 07 MXZ 440x with the factory sno x 1.75" track with double backer studs and tall nuts. This is what every sno x sled runs, so it can be done. If you ride trails I think studs are a good idea, as long as you have the clearance up front at the heat exchanger. The taller studs will bend easier if you pin it when you shouldn't though.

Lots of threads on this. The factory 1.75 sleds do not have tunnel protectors, the consensus is they were removed to make room for the taller lugs. There is also minimal clearance for the heat exchanger. Basically everything I've read says don't stud a Nytro XTX 1.75, either because you can't or you shouldn't.

If someone was really set on doing it I'm fairly certain the tunnel protectors could be put back in, possibly with a Star suspension relocate to add some clearance. However I'm not certain if there is anyway to increase heat exchanger clearance without substantial modification/fabricating.
